We conduct a variety of theme-based dramatic and storytelling performances, theater and art-based workshops for young learners and teachers at schools, corporates, NGOs, and private events. We do reading, activities, discussions, games, workshops, and class sessions for young people ages 3 through 16. We hold monthly events where anyone is welcome but also organize private events for companies, gr

oups, schools, birthday parties, and families of all sizes. We have a large menu of exercises we do with kids that both entertain and educate. What's special about what we do is that we always leave young people with a deeper appreciation and understanding of stories. We also pride ourselves on instilling positive values in everything that we do, resonating beyond just the story reading and discussions that we make possible. Storytelling is in our collective DNA and so it's never too early to understand how stories work and how we can bring out the innate storyteller inside each of us.

Working with group of teenagers can be so rewarding. We discuss about life, the world, things that disappoint us and how we can do something about it... The list is endless.
While sharing our objectives from this course, besides the regular pointers like speaking clearly, better articulation, developing confidence etc, what stood out for me was how each of them truly believe that 'Stories can help establish connections and make a difference to people's lives.'

Today, while conducting an exercise on use of objects creatively, two of the students passed the object to another by throwing it in their direction. We paused the exercise, and I asked the children who received it, 'How did that make you feel?'

It was something that none of them had ever been asked before. And hence, no one knew how to answer it. After a long discussion of what the other should/could have done, one of them was finally able to say, 'I felt disrespected.'

It was such a wonderful moment of realisation among each of them. The energy in the room changed and they immediately became aware of how their small gesture might affect someone else.

It's something I think about often - communication, or the lack of it, that can change our lives drastically. It can create, or resolves so many problems in the world.

For now, my wish for this group is to go back and be able to share how they feel, and become a little more sensitive towards those around them as well. ❣️

A glimpse into our delightful afternoon spent inside Khwab Ghar (House of Dreams) ✨

1. The Library Room : where the kids from the basti engage in educational games, puzzles, age appropriate books of stories of all genres and from around the world. They are allowed to take these home and bring them back to take another whenever they like. 📚

2. Zainab Baaji telling them a story about common spaces in their locality and asking them how they can take responsibility towards keeping it clean and green. This was followed by giving a flower pot, mud and fertilizers and seeds to plant in it to each pair. Which they need to nurture everyday at Khwab Ghar to see it grow and flower in the weeks ahead. 🌻

3. To tackle the situation of books not being returned to the library, this tree was created. Everytime a book is returned, a flower blooms on it. Such a beautiful way to reinforce positive behavior among the little ones. ❣️

4. The magical corridor that leads into the different rooms, and the founder of Aaghaz going about firefighting as usual for the senior showcase coming up in the evening. 🎭

Thank you for the lovely time and having us witness the absolutely commendable work that you'll do!! 💛💛

What started with the simple joy of sharing stories with children every month at different locations in Mumbai in 2014, has evolved over the years into a variety of meaningful learning engagements and experiences for all ages, the centre of which continues to remain storytelling and drama based methodology.

Our scope of work now includes,
✨Year-long drama programmes (in school & after school activities)
✨Holiday workshops at schools, residences, and centres across the country
✨Curriculum design and teacher training programmes to incorporate this pedegogy within the everyday practices in the classroom
✨Performances for special events for corporates and individuals
✨Conceptualising, choreographing and directing annual school productions
✨Specialised Workshops on executing specific teaching objectives within the syllabus

We began with 'The Crazy Adventures of Pippi Longstocking' in a tiny studio in Juhu, and go back to it for our 10th year celebrations at the beautiful in Bangalore!
Life has surely come a full circle for us 🌷

So grateful to all the parents, teachers, schools leaders, colleagues, mentors, festival organisers who believed in us and helped us reach this milestone.

'To continue to teach well, one must always continue to learn.'
It was incredible to enter the learning space for a workshop titled 'STAY IN TOUCH' designed by the talented and for the .space
It helped us to explore the idea of communication through the sense of touch and not words for a change. It opened our minds to endless possibilities on how communication can go far beyond what we know of it, and we can't wait to take it back to our classrooms too.

Thank you Shruti and Mellita for this experience ❤️

Shruti also runs her own company called which has a very exciting line up of 'work in progress' performances of contemporary dances called VIEWPOINT coming up on 2nd September .studios ✨

What a delightful Sunday morning with our COMIC CREATORS from around the world!! 🥸🥳

You know you're doing it right when the mums think that the kids wouldn't do a class on a Sunday morning BUT ALL OF THEM convince them otherwise and turn up!! 🤩

I really wish the world was ruled by these kind compassionate children!

We spent the last five days creating unique comic books with plotlines covering a range of themes like animal adoptions, bullying, sibling relationship dynamics, friendships, global warming, and World Peace!

A wonderful way to explore their imagination and share their ideas by learning about

🪄 illustration designs,
🌻 creating characters,
🎐 doodles,
🎭 dialogue writing,
🎙️improvisation,
🪟storyboarding and
👩🏽‍🎨presentation skills.

The best way to spend summer vacations isn't it!?
And for us to hear these words from them before signing off - "WE WILL MISS YOU!!"

If you'd like to enroll your child for the next batch, or want us to conduct this for the next play date, DM us and we'll make it happen!

Why am I drawn to the theatre more than a cinema hall? you may ask. Because my presence in the former, matters. I have always believed that theatre is more than just lights, camera, and action. It is a form of art that requires its performers to dig deep into their emotions and bring out … Theatre...
