"Mitra Piyare Nu" written by The tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singhji is a heartbreakingly blissful Gurbani shabad. 'Mittar Pyare Nu, Haal Mureedaan Da Kehna' means 'Let the beloved friend, the Lord, know the condition of his loving disciples.' It is said that this shabad was recited by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj when he was in the Machhivara forest in isolation after fighting with the enemies of Khalsa. It is a touching expression of inner longing for the Lord despite all hardships. Vusat Iqbal Khan sings it at Kirtaniye 2 Shukrana edition
The aarti is performed ritually everyday.
It is generally believed that overcome as Guru Nanak Devji was by the spiritual beauty of the evening aarti being performed at the temple at Jaganath Puri he in an ecstatic state composed these verses there and then.
So beautiful are these verses, so inclusive in their meaning and above all, they are a paean to the environment , to God's creation in all itโs glory, that Guru Rabindranath Tagore called it a hymn to the universe and translated for all to appreciate.
Vusuat Iqbal Khan presents it here at Kirtaniye Shukrana edition to make it a truly inclusive evening respecting Guru Nanak Devji's secular beliefs.

Presenting โSuraj Kiran Mile, Jal Ka Jal Huya Ramโ from Ang 846 of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. The Shabad is written by Guru Arjan Devji, who reminds us with these sublime lyrics that "Just as the rays of the sun merge with the source of all light, the sun and water mingles with the waters of the ocean we also are on a journey to merge with our creator" Thus whatever we see or hear is only an embodiment of the Lord and wherever we look around, we perceive the same Lord pervading everywhere in countless forms
