The five senses of Touch, Sight, Sound, Taste and Smell play a pivotal role in how we experience and respond to the world around us. Design touches upon every aspect of our lives, and the way we interact with designed objects /spaces/experiences have a direct connect with our five senses. A good design always fulfills the sensory experience invariably.

This edition of Design Lounge attempts to unravel the connections that exist between Design and the five senses.

Sunny and Garima's love for music, the music festivals, architecture, symmetry and geometry led to the design of a tensile canopy with fluorescent hi-tech detailing, filling the cavernous venue of the Dome in Mumbai very successfully. A sense of lightness was present with the use of a multilayered mylar darwaza entry, radial reflective arcs (in ribbon), translucent chandeliers (also in ribbon and with lights) and transparent furniture. Lighting kept the volume of the space dynamic and ever changing.

We wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

The festive season got us revisiting celebration in recent times with sparkle, lights and shine for , artist, friend and original partner in crime on the dancefloor.

This wonderful wedding celebration which happened to coincide with Sumant's birthday was a night like no other. Inspired by Ayesha's joie de vivre and her wonderful artwork, the final outcome was a carnival celebrating life, love, family and friends.

Concept:⁠⠀
"The conical iconic shaped Christmas tree, is the inspiration for The World Tree. Its dynamic core with the cone twisting into a spiral is enhanced by its actual motion on a slow revolve. Green grass and Red floral fillers line the spiral slices. The conical twist represents the strong, healthy, human spinal column; yet also becomes the tree trunk of the larger Tree of Life.⁠⠀
⁠⠀
The foliage of the tree and its base, both reference the terrain and terraces of Mother Earth”. The shiny mirrored balls and coloured crystal foliage of the larger tree (inspired by traditional Christmas tree decoration) reflects the senses of the soul that we need to awaken to become whole; to become an entity of Light.⁠⠀

The icosahedron gold star at the base within human reach, is the final icing on this “Christmas Cake” representing Hope, the Heavens above, and Universal love.⁠⠀
⁠⠀
Note: 12000 running feet length of gradient coloured crystal, and 3600 mirror balls are used to enhance and develop a spatial experience to represent the concept above."⁠⠀

Swipe to take a look at the set we created for Good Earth Sustain's 10th Anniversary Show. The inspiration for the collection as well as the accompanying exhibition was the ancient river Sindhu and the culture and civilization it has cradled.⁠⠀

Our design interpretation comprised of a central courtyard featuring a map of the lands watered by the Sindhu, surrounded by a caravanserai, which featured the exhibition, and tied together by the Tree of Life⁠⠀
