These guys are amazing, they could make an overplayed song sound so fresh - the melodies they craft and the voices that deliver that craft are unbelievable!

Restless Desire (Tura)
Street Stories (Shillong)
Titans (Tura)
Warlock (Tura)

The selected bands are requested to report at 10:00 backstage for the briefing and draw of lottery for the order of appearance on the Grand Finale. The briefing will be followed by Sound-check.

For the Grand Finale, the bands will have to perform four numbers, which could be covers or originals. ALSO THEY HAVE TO COMPOSE AND PERFORM A JINGLE ON SIMSANG - THE RIVER of not more than 2 minutes duration.

Congratulations to all the selected bands and our best wishes. For those who didn't make it, we would like to welcome you back next year.

Day 2 Prelims of the Simsang Beat Contest

Yet again, we were behind schedule. The preceding programmes of the day were delayed, therefore, so was the bands' sound-check, and eventually the Contest Prelims. We had disheartening cancellations from four bands, but it somehow was a blessing in disguise - we were not too rushed and we could wrap up in an earthly hour.

There was a big crowd, easily ten times more than the first day prelims. And they were fab, from the organisers' point of view. And I'm sure from the participating bands' too. Great showing Williamnagar - spread the peace & love.

The first three bands to take the stage - Dosser's Urge, Titans & Street Stories - coming directly from competing at the National Hornbill Rock Contest 2012 were effortlessly great. Next to take the stage was Confession in Confusion who wowed us with their originals. They were followed by Apocalyse, who arrived late for the late sound-check as they had come straight from the Rising Stars Contest at Tura. The sixth band was the Midnight Garden Factor, veterans considering all the other bands in the contest, and... I'm lost for words. The last band for the night was Williamnagar's own Dividing Dreams who unfortunately had problems with the sound. All in all, a great show!

A big thank you to our esteemed judges - Muz, M***a & Browny - for your time, support, advice and the invaluable judging of the performance these last two days.

The Finalists would be announced on 13.12.12. Our best wishes to all the bands. Looking forward to the Grand Finale on 14.12.12

Day 1 Prelims of the Simsang Beat Contest

First off, our sincere apologies for the delay in our schedule - this being the first day and with the stage not being completely ready on time. But all's well that ends stupendously! ;-)

We would like to thank the 8 bands who took the stage for being patient and understanding, and for their terrific performances. The eight bands who performed today were Beneath the Remains, The Zenes, Saturnalia, Rise of the Fallen Art, Restless Desire, Warlock, Hatred and Labyrinth of Hope. Rock On, guys!

We would also like to thanks to the Imti Jamir's sound crew, the light & stage guys, whose efforts had made it possible for us to deliver a great show.

A very big thank you goes to our wonderful MC, Brenda, you made all the difference. You Rock!

And a special thanks to the crowd. Don't miss tomorrow's performances. We have for you Ably, Apocalypse, Apocalypse, Confession to Confusion, Dissected Souls, Dividing Dreams, Dosser’s Urge, Kick the Day, Midnight Garden Factor, Street Stories and Titans. We just can't wait for tomorrow!

We are sorry that Aberrant and The Way would not be able to join us.
