Celebrating and honouring the courage and resilience of Chennai's indomitable Women!

11th March,
Spencer’s plaza, Anna Salai drew a huge gathering as women from across Tamil Nadu thronged the Mall to participate in a unique tribute to women. Iris Events, a leading city-based entertainment firm celebrated International Women's Day with an innovative and meaningful Event - "SINGAPENNEY 2023."

This was an occasion where women exhibited their skills and showcased their achievements across a wide range of fields covering innovation, entrepreneurship and sports. This year's event marked the 5th edition of Singapenney with over 500 contestants participating.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS OF THE EVENTS:

INDOOR KABADDI TOURNAMENT: A real life Kabaddi Court was erected at the venue which was the scene of heated exchanges as competing teams vied with each other for exciting prizes and awards. More than 12 teams from different colleges and women between the age of 18 – 60 took part. Out of this, four winning teams were awarded.

AWARD CEREMONY:

INNOVA-PRENEUR: This award acknowledged New Age Women Entrepreneurs, who have launched innovative businesses and came up trumps despite lock down restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic. Moreover, the event brought together women from across a wide spectrum of achievers and included achievements in Culinary/ Cookery, Crafts, Fashion, Manufacturing, Services and more. Out of 60 nominations 15 women were awarded.
EXCEPTIONAL AWARD: Ms. Subathra a visually challenged school teacher and Ms. Saraswathi a visually challenged Youtuber won the exceptional award
EXEMPLARY AWARD: Three special awards were given to Ms. Ambika of Agal Foundation, Ms. Punitha Yusuf of Faith to Unite Trust and Ms. Ezhilarasi – International Yoga Trainer as exemplary women for their service.

The Chief Guest Mr. Ganesh Venkatram who is an actor, a motivational speaker and former Mr. India and Mr CK kumaravel – Co founder Naturals saloon & Spa gave away the awards to the winners of the Kabaddi tournament and to the awardees – women who won awards in different categories.
The event was well attended by celebrities from Different walks of life.

The participants and winners carried home awards, certificates and gift hampers.
The event was supported by Indian Oil XP95, City Union Bank, Naturals salon, Amrutanjan- Comfy& Fruit Nik Electro +, Hi-Auraa water, Visualites Photography and Iris Glam.
Part of the proceeds from the event was earmarked for Hope Foundation – an organisation that cares for homeless elderly women.

The event was initiated and organised by Dr. Latha A Krishna of Iris Events and her dedicated team.

Best male VOICE AKHIL ( Student of The Audiophile school of sound engineering ) & Best female voice is Prashanthi ( Aspiring singer )
