At Festival we have the historic fort right next to the sea as our backdrop. In this workshop we shall come together to make public art in a cultural and natural settings. The process begins with guided walks around the environs which inform us about the local history, community and ecology. This makes us sensitive to the space we work in. Our materials also derive from what we find locally and what is eco-friendly. Our creations shall also be in keeping with the cultural ethos of the place and a gift to the local community. Each day we shall explore a different facet of the space to inspire us to create a massive work of art together.

December 13th, 11am - 4.30pm: A heritage walk along the fort followed by making hundreds of paper lanterns to light up the surroundings
December 14th, 11am - 4.30pm: An observation of pelagic birds to inspire us to make hundreds of windmills and kinetic sculptures
December 15th, 11am - 4.30pm: A visit to the beach ecosystem, collection of pebbles and shells and using them to make chimes and sound installations
December 16th, 11am - 4.30pm: A visit to a fishing village and making of a sculpture with salvaged parts from old boats
December 17th, 11am - 4.30pm: An interaction with local people and creating an artistic performance with them

The workshop is led by Architect and environmentalist Tallulah D'Silva and artist and designer Vishal Rawlley.
