Did you know that the freshest and most flavorful olive oil is green in color? These final days of October mark the beginning of the olive harvest in Italy, Spain, and Greece. In the coming months, collection and pressing will prove to be a time-intensive labor for those with olive trees in our part of Tuscany, but it’s most definitely a labor of love. At our website, under “wining and dining,” take a look at how Barbazzano’s own olives undergo their transformation into the green olive oil Italy is known for.

With American travelers trickling back into Italy, Tuscan life is flourishing and regaining its former lively rhythm. Fortunately for locals, however, the surrounding nature (and sunsets in particular) have no recognition of worldly events, and continue to stun and awe without pause. Renowned cities and lesser-known towns alike have ascended from the eeriness of last summer, but are relatively quiet in comparison to the hustle and bustle of summer crowds past, making for a delightfully personal experience with the Italy we’ve all been dreaming of. At the link in our bio, take a look at our favorite day trips to take during your stay at Barbazzano.

Barbazzano Olive Harvest and Pressing 2017
