The second edition of MAM and Drones Beyond 2024 is over. Three days in which Puglia was the protagonist of the Aerospace and Space sector. The Grottaglie Airport Test Bed, set up by the Distretto Tecnologico Aerospaziale, will play an important role.

Thanks to Esa Bic Brindisi, Puglia’s role in attracting young people capable of competing in the aerospace sector will become increasingly strong.

Spotlight on the spaceport project. It was the third and final day of MAM 2024 that unveiled the face of the Grottaglie spaceport. ✈️

The design of Italy's first spaceport was presented on the MAM 2024 stage by: Eng. Paolo Cambula - General Manager AdR Ingegneria, Arch. Benedetto Camerana - Studio Benedetto Camerana, Amedeo Aitamari - Commercial Director Infrastructure and Mobility Rina Consulting.

Apulia Region President Michele Emiliano said he was "𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘭𝘺 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵”.

The presence of the two startups within Esa Bic Brindisi, the first and only space startup incubator in southern Italy affiliated with the European Space Agency's network of Business Incubation Centers, was highlighted during MAM2024. 📊

Managed by DTA and supported by the Politecnico di Bari, the University of Bari, the University of Salento, several industrial partners and the Italian Space Agency, the program is co-financed by the Puglia Region. 🛰️

During the events, the first two startups to be incubated were presented.

They are 𝗙𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗗𝗘𝗠𝗼𝗻, a UniBa spinoff specializing in the development of solutions for the detection and environmental monitoring of radioactive elements, based on technologies used for deep space observation, and 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗦𝗮𝘁, a team composed of three young space engineers that focuses on the development of transceivers for cubesats and small satellites, with the aim of facilitating communication with satellites of large commercial Satcom constellations and improving the exchange of data to and from the ground.

During MAM2024, young students had the opportunity to explore aerospace and discover the main profiles required to drive innovation:

🌌 Space Engineer: designs and controls, aircraft, spacecraft, satellites and operates their on-board systems.

🔌 Electronics Engineer: designs circuits for space missions, ensuring safety and functionality.

📊 Mathematician/Physicist: applies mathematical and physical principles to define navigation paths and scientific research.

🛰️ Avionics/Electronics: integrates systems for space assets and satellites.

💡 Systems Engineer: Manages space systems architecture for efficient operations.

🔧 Electronics/Telecommunications/Automation Engineer: develops technologies for communication and navigation in space.

🌡️ Thermal Engineer: designs thermal control systems for space devices.

🖥️ Software Engineer with Space Skills: develops software for space mission management.

📊 Data Scientist: analyzes data for space systems performance.

📐 Mechanical Designer/Designer: makes models of space components.

🛠️ Mechanical Engineer: coordinates the production of space components.

MAM 2024 - Grottaglie Spaceport

Spotlight on the spaceport project. It was the third and final day of MAM 2024 that unveiled the face of the Grottaglie spaceport. ✈️ The design of Italy's first spaceport was presented on the MAM 2024 stage by: Eng. MAM 2024 - Start Up

The presence of the two startups within Esa Bic Brindisi, the first and only space startup incubator in southern Italy affiliated with the European Space Agency's network of Business Incubation Centers, was highlighted during MAM2024. 📊 Managed by DTA and supported by the Politecnico di Bari, the University of Bari, the University of Salento, several industrial partners and the Italian Space Agency, the program is co-financed by the Puglia Region. 🛰️ During the events, the first two startups to be incubated were presented. They are 𝗙𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗗𝗘𝗠𝗼𝗻, a UniBa spinoff specializing in the development of solutions for the detection and environmental monitoring of radioactive elements, based on technologies used for deep space observation, and 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗦𝗮𝘁, a team composed of three young space engineers that focuses on the development of transceivers for cubesats and small satellites, with the aim of facilitating communication with satellites of large commercial Satcom constellations and improving the exchange of data to and from the ground. During MAM2024, young students had the opportunity to explore aerospace and discover the main profiles required to drive innovation: 🌌 Space Engineer: designs and controls, aircraft, spacecraft, satellites and operates their on-board systems. 🔌 Electronics Engineer: designs circuits for space missions, ensuring safety and functionality. 📊 Mathematician/Physicist: applies mathematical and physical principles to define navigation paths and scientific research. 🛰️ Avionics/Electronics: integrates systems for space assets and satellites. 💡 Systems Engineer: Manages space systems architecture for efficient operations. 🔧 Electronics/Telecommunications/Automation Engineer: develops technologies for communication and navigation in space. 🌡️ Thermal Engineer: designs thermal control systems for space devices. 🖥️ Software Engineer with Space Skills: develops software for space mission management. 📊 Data Scientist: analyzes data for space systems performance. 📐 Mechanical Designer/Designer: makes models of space components. 🛠️ Mechanical Engineer: coordinates the production of space components. Today the 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 of the 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 was inaugurated in Grottaglie, the heart of European aerospace. ✂️ Cutting the ribbon on the opening day were the President of the Regione Puglia, Michele Emiliano; the President of Aeroporti di Puglia, Antonio Vasile; the President of the Distretto Tecnologico Aerospaziale, 𝐺𝑖𝑢𝑠𝑒𝑝𝑝𝑒 𝐴𝑐𝑖𝑒𝑟𝑛𝑜; and the Vice Managing Director of of ENAC - Ente Nazionale Aviazione Civile, 𝘍𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘰 𝘕𝘪𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘪. 🛰️ The event boasts over 1,500 accredited guests, 115 speakers, over 70 exhibitors, 16 international drone operators, and 15 flight demonstrations. In the first day of MAM2024, both European aerospace leaders and students and schools competing with drones all focused on the evolution of air operations and innovative air mobility.
