Sound Safari: much more than a map!

The direct connection between geographical areas and sound content gives life to a new kind of interactive map, offering an innovative way to engage with the public and enhance the experience of exploring a physical space. The Sync feature allows users in the same geographic area, to simultaneously listen to the same audio content on different devices, creating a shared and immersive experience.

Sound Safari, entirely designed and developed by Onda, is an online platform that lets you integrate geo-localized sound-emitting areas into your maps. With our advanced editor, creating maps is simple and intuitive, and you can easily embed them into your websites. End users can explore them directly from their mobile devices, with no need to download any app.
A versatile and highly customizable service, Sound Safari adapts to a wide range of contexts and applications—from tourism to events, from marketing to artistic projects—offering a unique and engaging experience.

After its participation at MUTEK Montréal this summer, great news follows: Laser Symphony has been nominated for the Videocittà Awards 2024 in Rome, in the Immersive Experience category.

Today, on December 14th, the Palazzo dei Congressi in Rome will host the fourth edition of this prestigious event, a cornerstone in the realm of visual digital culture. The evening will celebrate the most innovative talents and visionary projects in the field, awarding excellence in five categories: Creators, Immersive Experience, AV Performance, Video Art, and Next.

First created in 2016, Laser Symphony has traveled across international borders, with appearances in Poland, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands and Canada. The installation continues to stand out as a focal point in the dialogue between technology, creativity, and audience engagement.

At the end of this 2024, after nearly 10 years, this marks a significant milestone and a meaningful recognition for us.

We officially opened Superconnection, welcoming nearly 120 guests at Spazio milesi last weekend. After a press conference and opening AV o audiovisual performance by the artist Vincio Siracusano we unveiled this unique exhibition where smartphones become tools to actively engage with both physical and digital realities, beyond just observing life.

The exhibition offers an immersive, interactive experience using an innovative web-based system that connects smartphones and AV technologies. Visitors can engage with the artworks by scanning a QR code, no app download required.

In Room 1, four interactive installations blend technology and creativity:

▪️In “Where are we going?”, visitors control the light on LED walls and spatial sounds, interacting with others in search of their own direction.
▪️ «Scratch and Win» offers a digital scratch card revealing a harsh reality.
▪️«Humming» lets visitors activate letters on screens, creating the sonic chaos of modern life.
▪️In «Faces», selfies are transformed into an endless digital collage.

Downstairs in Room 2:

▪️«Laser Echoes» offers a physical, shared experience: visitors interrupt laser beams, creating sounds and light patterns, and collaboratively composing a melody in an immersive space.

Superconnection is open to the public until December 14th at Spazio Milesi , located in the Porta Venezia area at Via F. Casati, Milan, from Tuesday to Saturday, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

What if, instead of taking pictures, we used smartphones to experience a communal digital reality?

In an age of global connections, Superconnection, the first exhibition dedicated to the works of Onda Studio, invites us to reflect on our relationship with technology and its role in defining our actions and the relationships between individuals, communities and the world we live in.

The installations presented in the exhibition use an innovative proprietary web-based system that enables intuitive real-time interaction between the public and artworks through the smartphone, promoting new frontiers in audiovisual communication.

Onda Studio returns to GLOW Eindhoven, the international light art festival, with its participatory performance Light Parade.

This collective project, premiered at Kernel Festival Lab 2023, and now brought to Eindhoven thanks to the support of Philips combines performing arts and technology, promoting integration and collaboration through the universal language of light, music and dance.

As an glowing stream of dancers, guided by the choreographer Annelies Vriends, Light Parade brings light and dance "to the streets", surprising and engaging the audience along the way with different flash mobs, characterised by the use of light-costumes that blink dynamically and colourfully following the music chosen for each choreography.

All light-costumes are wirelessly connected to each other, allowing the choreographer's smartphone to control in real-time the dynamics and the colours of the lights of all costumes simultaneously, through a web-based system developed in house.
