We're continuing our series of posts featuring our WFTGA Area Representatives. Today we're focusing on 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚! We have five area representatives for this region. They are available to answer your questions about WFTGA membership and to assist with any enquiries about setting up a tourist guide association if one does not exist in your area yet.

Globally we have one Area Representative Liaison, 1 EXBO Partner and 16 Area representatives, covering the 7 continents. Area Representatives are utilised in regions where their language skills are needed. Our Team Asia will be meeting online this coming Sunday, the 14th of April.

We invite tourist guides in this vast and culturally rich and varied region to join our global family of tourist guides.

Italian Lakes
Day 1 Hello Lake Maggiore
Arrival at Milan airport and proceed to the hotel. Enjoy some free time to relax. Welcome dinner and overnight.

Day 2 Cruise Lake Maggiore and discover the Borromean Islands
Breakfast. Full day to enjoy the beauty of Italy’s second largest lake and one of the most scenic. Don't forget your camera today as you will discover the wonders of the three Borromean Islands: Isola Madre, Isola Bella e Isola dei Pescatori. Lunch at a local restaurant. Overnight.

Day 3 Romance in Verona
Breakfast. Travel this morning to romantic Verona. Arrival and lunch. In the afternoon meet your local guide for a guided tour of Verona, commonly known as the setting for Shakespeare's tragedy Romeo and Juliet. The rich history of the city extends back to Roman times. Still enclosed by ancient walls, Verona conserves an atmosphere that evokes a past of medieval and Renaissance splendour. The main monuments you will visit are: Duomo, Piazza delle Erbe with the famous high tower, Torre dei Lamberti, Piazza Bra dominated by the enormous Arena and the house of Juliet, with its famous balcony. Overnight.

Day 4 Discover Sirmione, the Pearl of Lake Garda
Breakfast. Today discover Sirmione, "Pearl of Lake Garda", with an English speaking guide. This town is built on a peninsula that projects into the Lake and is famed for its medieval beauty as well as its breathtaking natural surroundings. After the visit enjoy a boat tour around its peninsula. Lunch at a local restaurant. Return to Verona and the remainder of the day is yours to relax. Overnight.

Day 5 Explore ancient Bergamo en route to Lake Como
Breakfast. Travel this morning to Bergamo. This eastern Lombard city offers a wealth of art and medieval Renaissance and baroque architecture and is situated in a privileged position overlooking the southern plains with breathtaking views. The city's defining feature is a double identity.

Civil Wedding in Perugia
“Collegio della Mercanzia"

The Collegio della Mercanzia, an artistic jewel of Perugia, is located in the fondachi of Palazzo dei Priori. In order to show off its wealth, the guild preferred the precious wooden decoration, covering completely both the walls and the ceiling of the Sala dell' Udienza. It is a rare example of decoration with inlaid tiles, reproducing the fourteenth-century modules of the quadrilobo and an oriental glyph inscribed within the square, executed by Nordic craftsmen. The pulpit of Justice is remarkable, with the colored symbols of the city, art and the four cardinal virtues (Justice, Fortress, Prudence and Temperance).

Located in the most central area of Assisi, the museum extends under the current Piazza del Comune, the city center, where you can still see the temple of Minerva surrounded by the main medieval public buildings.

The archaeological area of the Roman Forum of Assisi corresponds to the so-called central terrace, one of the monumental platforms built in the 2nd century B.C. at the same time as the planning of the Roman city of Asisium. The terrace, which due to its central position, is traditionally considered the city's forum, and it is dominated by the temple of Minerva above, one of the most intact works of Roman religious architecture, now visible on the northern side of the square.
