I’m so profoundly glad that for the 2nd Nowhere we brought the V***A URINALS! Beyond providing something that actually makes life easier at festivals, we showed how beautiful the world might be if public architecture was designed considering the needs of bodies with v***a.
These urinals are (also) a platform to experiment with body positions and intimacy for people who are used to be taught by others what is the “normal” way they should p*e, sit, menstruate, feel vulnerable or ashamed. My dream that VIP*es and Octup*e were understood in their mind-shifting potential became true, and you all should be proud of your curiosity, open-mindness and availability for experimentation that made it possible!
When I was “anonymously” going to p*e in them and listened to the enthusiastic comments of users, I felt all the efforts made sense. It has been a VERY hard work on site because it was basically me and the engineer-hero Martin Rogers.
WE WILL NEED A RELIABLE CREW OF VOLUNTEERS NEXT YEAR (which I thought to have this year but I didn’t). Thinking also to form a stable crew based in Bcn and active in various festivals all the year long or so – please get in touch if interested. And I’m looking for an industrial designer or similar.
