So, what will the Wedding Planner do on the day of the wedding?

The wedding planner, and the team, will be with you throughout the day.
There will be no floundering in a foreign city to contact vendors who might not even speak your language, as someone will always do it for you.

The timetable? We'll monitor it and adjust accordingly in your place, keeping your wishes in mind, should any unexpected issue arise!

Your guests will be free to be just guests, and you to enjoy your dream day.
My team and I will gladly help you out, juggle the venues and transportation, and orchestrate the event, guiding each part in a wonderful symphony—all with the objective of making you as happy as you can possibly be.

If this fairy godmother treatment inspires you, contact me!
We'll plan your wedding together!

The new year has started and you're still wondering: What does a wedding planner do? Is the service right for me?

These are a few photos from a trip in Valdorcia, Tuscany, from last summer, where team Magical Vows went scouting a few churches, other secular ceremonial halls and reception venues for a wedding in planning!

This is an integral part of the service we offer: destination wedding or not, we are going to personally go and scout places that fit with your requests and style on paper to see if that's actually the case, talking to vendors personally to offer a more personal touch, while having no language barrier at all!

Does that click with you? If so, get in contact!
We'll be happy to help you plan the perfect wedding this year.

It’s been three weeks and I can’t stop looking at this photo.

To be honest, the last 10 months haven’t been the easiest, from a personal point of view. My husband and I are finishing our definitive home (with all that it entails with running after construction workers, plumbers, electricians etc) and last year, between September and December, we lost both of our beloved dogs and to say that it hit us hard is a huge understatement.

I really needed that hug.
I really needed to give that hug to a HAPPY, HAPPY bride and a HAPPY HAPPY groom, who trusted me, my expertise and my judgement to pull off their day in the best way possible, with the best team for them.

It really reminded me that this is why I do this job, this is what it’s about.
It’s not just about the aesthetic, it’s not about how complex of an event you can pull off as a planner, it’s about their dreams and us, as Wedding Professionals, being the ones who can transform those dreams into reality, even beyond their expectations.

Thank you, Amelia and Haziel, for trusting me and working with me and for sharing your joy with us.

So you’re setting out to decide your guests' seating?
Here are some of my hard-earned expert tips!

1 - Prepare! Divide your place cards by table, or by side of your imperial table or horseshoe table side, so that whoever sets your table won't make easy mistakes!
2 - Anticipate! Put your place cards in the order you already want them to be put down, make it easier for yourself and your staff
3 - Avoid trouble! Use the same names on the place cards, guest lists and table plan! You know that Alby is actually Christian's name, but your waiters won't!
4 - Bonus! Keep the wind in mind! If you're outside your best bet is to tie your place cards and put your menus in a pocket fold... or get used to running!

Follow for more wedding tips, and don't hesitate to call me for your wedding day!

Well, after dating myself with that tidbit...

Today I'm showcasing a vital part of my wedding planning team!
Here's Daniela, my partner in crime and wedding designer, who always comes up with wonderful ideas to suit our couples' needs and proceeds to carry them out swiftly and with style, both in the designing process and during the wedding.

She's a gem to work with, and I'm sure you'll love working with her too!

New hairstyle and colour, new me!
After all, you don't turn 40 every day!
Thought it's in a few days yet (on May 9th!)

I took this selfie on the way to officiate a ceremony yesterday! There was the perfect light for picture-taking, I can't wait to see the photos!

Also, as you can imagine seeing this... If I were a Jedi, my light saber would certainly be blue!

May the force be with you all!

Wedding Speeches are an art form, but there's a method to the madness!
Follow my DOs and DON'Ts to make your life, and that of your wedding vendors, that much easier!

DO: Decide where and when to have your speeches first! Some good spots are: Before the dinner service, after the second first course, before the cutting of the cake.

DON'T: Leaving your vendors wondering is bad practice! Tell them when the speeches will be and where, so that the catering can avoid having the courses get too cold, and the photographers can get ready to shoot!

DO: Give your guests a time limit! In my experience, 5 minutes is the perfect timespan, and 10 minutes too much.

DON'T: Avoid having two speeches in the same time-slot! And if you need to, keep the timing to maximum 10 minutes. It might seem too little, but when you're there those 10 minutes will feel like hours!

DO: Make sure that no two people are going to choose the same readings, poetries etc. That goes for the ceremony as well!

Lastly! You're going to need microphones! Unless the venue is small enough and there are no more than 20 guests, that's going to be needed, so coordinate with your music people or DJs!

Of course, with Magical Vows' help in planning those are already things I'll take into consideration, so feel free to contact me!

I've had to arrange and deal with people wanting to toss things at the spouses for a while now (maybe reining in the violent urges should be a priority? Or, let's say, the Dark Urges? *winks in D&D*), so here's a couple of important tips I learnt.
May they help you out too!

1 - Not all venues and municipalities allow rice tossing. You can check with them yourself, have your planner do it, or a guest, family or friend, but it's important to check first: you could find yourself with a fine if you don't!
2 - Rice tossing is traditional, but it has some issues. First, it's food... it's ok to mix in a little bit of rice for luck, but let's avoid wasting a lot of it.
If you decide to use rice, wash it and dry it properly! It will stain the spouses' outfits otherwise.
3 - Rice isn’t as environmentally friendly as it seems. Aside from the whole food waste part, most birds will eat too much of it if it's left lying around and will actually suffer from it, leading to some... less than pleasant kinds of rains, let's say.
Consider using petals, ecofetti, lavender, leaves, and greens, or mix these all up!
As long as it won't harm any local fauna, it's good.
4 -Arrange a tossing bag for each of your guests! Maybe not every petal will land on you, but all your guests will love to be there and part of the fun.
At Magical Vows I usually arrange the guests in a circle or a line and let them have fun with it!
5 -Last but not least at all! Remember to toss the bag's contents in the air so that they gently rain down on the spouses, not directly at them! Even if it's rice or lavender, it can still hurt.
In fact, the photos turn out best when the contents of the tossing bags are caught glittering down on the spouses, so remember to throw them in the air right before they exit the ceremony venue!
+1 - Lastly... if you're tossing something like rocks, make sure they're LARP foam rocks at least!

As always, check www.magicalvows.it or the DMs and contact me if you need wedding planning help!

If you know or suspect that some of your guests might want to do a little something extra for you during the wedding day, such as fun games, songs, or poetry, share this post with them and save yourself some trouble!

🧚🧚🧚

So you want to create a wedding game?
Here are a few tips on wedding etiquette that might be helpful to you!

🌕 DO: Use inside jokes that can be easily understood or explained quickly, not everyone will know all of them!

🌑 DON'T: Nothing is worse than something fun that drags on! A wedding game should last no more than five minutes.

🌕 DO: Talk with the Wedding Planner or Catering in advance about the timing of your game, don't just start a game in the middle of the meal without a warning and make everyone get cold pasta or dry meat!
🧚‍♀️ In fact, tips for the spouses! Choose a person for each friend group so that they can coordinate with your vendors!

🌑DON'T: Don't do things that will embarrass the spouses, remember that there will likely be some family present and the spouses might not want them to know some of the details their friends are likely aware of. Laugh with them, not at them.

🌕 DO: Exercise patience! There might be some cringe-y or corny games, speeches or dedications from other friends or maybe older family - or there might be some parts that you don't understand at all, especially in a multi-lingual wedding. That's fine! You don't have to enjoy it, but keep your irritation to yourself, don't grouse about it or disparage it! Let's keep things civil!

Unplugged ceremonies! What are they?

It's when your guests don't take photos with their phones during the ceremony!

📷Why? Because the photos taken then don't always look great in the photo album, it's just a wall of phones after all!

📷How to explain: The best moment to do so is before the ceremony begins. Ask your wedding planner, a party member or a friend you trust to stand in front of the guests and say something along these lines:
"The spouses ask that for the ceremony you avoid taking photos with your own phones and holding them up in front of you - they want to see your beautiful faces in their wedding photos, and not the make and model of your current smartphone!"

💙💙I've come to realise that many people don't even think about this, so a gentle reminder it's not unwelcome if you want something like this!

Some examples of some of my most requested ceremonies!

Ring exchanges are traditional here and they can stand alone, but often my couples want something custom, and I love that:
I'm open to many kinds of ceremonies, but the Candle of Unity, Sand-Pouring and Handfasting are three of the most beloved by my clients, to stand-alone added to a custom ceremony or with ring exchanges too!

🔷Sand-Pouring has the spouses pouring coloured sand into a sealable glass bottle to showcase the unique design for a forever memory;

🔷With the Candle of Unity the spouses all light a central candle with their own single ones, to symbolize the many singing in unison in a single relationship;

🔷Handfasting symbolically ties the hands of the spouses, to represent their willingness to strive for a great life together hand-in-hand!

There are many more and I'm open to celebrating most of them (aside from those that might be unfeasible due to their logistics, but we can always talk about it!)

What's your favourite ceremony? And why?
Let me know!
