, fitting and adjusting gowns and tuxedos, sales and record keeping, floral designing, and managing the store in the absence of the owner/ manager. Her great skill and dexterity led her to the position of lead florist within months of starting out as part- time store clerk.This position was held for 9years until she took up an international offer to work as a floral designer in an Internationally Recognised Special Events and Company in Grand Cayman. Celebrations is known for its unique and creative designs, and has attracted some of the most famous celebrities world wide. While at celebrations , Joan had held different positions such as, managing a branch of Celebrations that was located in the West Shore Shopping Centre, floral supervisor, head of the tuxedo fitting department and a member of the Special Events Décor Team. Joan has attended international flower shows hosted by Teleflora and participated in the affiliated training seminars staged in New York and Florida, U. Her work with Celebrations has been featured on Travel Channel, a network reknowed for exposing unique and outstanding work, cultural expressions and diversity in human practices. She has also designed the bridal party flowers for the Styles TV and Network destination wedding that was held in Little Cayman, Cayman Islands. Today, after 25 years in the business (since 1986), Joan has earned the boasting rights of being one of the most sought after floral designers and wedding co-coordinators in Western Jamaica. She possesses the aptitude and flexibility which enables her to combine the local and international floral cuisine to serve up a most delightful décor.
