Bill Gates was invited by a high school to give a lecture. He arrived by helicopter, took the paper from the pocket where he had written eleven items. He read everything in less than 5 minutes, was applauded for more than 10 minutes non-stop, thanked him and left in his helicopter. What was written is very interesting, read:

1. Life isn't easy — get used to it.

2. The world is not concerned about your self-esteem. The world expects you to do something useful for it BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

A former cleaning lady becomes a chef and fulfils her dream of having her own organic restaurant
True story: A simple (but powerful) gesture of kindness from a CEO

3. You will not earn $20,000 a month once you leave school. You won't be vice president of a company with a car and phone available until you've managed to buy your own car and phone.

4. If you find your teacher rude, wait until you have a boss. He will not feel sorry for you.

5. Selling old newspapers or working while on vacation is not beneath your social standing. Your grandparents have a different word for it: they call it opportunity.

6. If you fail, it's not your parents' fault. So do not whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

7. Before you were born, your parents weren't as critical as they are now. They only got that way from paying your bills, washing your clothes and hearing you say they're "ridiculous." So before saving the planet for the next generation wanting to fix the mistakes of your parent's generation, try cleaning your own room.

8. Your school may have blurred the distinction between winners and losers, but life isn't like that. In some schools, you don't repeat more than a year and you have as many chances as you need to get it right. This looks like absolutely NOTHING in real life. If you step on the ball, you're fired… STREET!!! Do it right the first time!

9. Life is not divided into semesters. You won't always have summers off, and it's unlikely that other employees wil

John D. Rockefeller was once the world's wealthiest individual and the first billionaire. By 25, he controlled one of the largest oil refineries in the United States, and by 31, he was the largest oil refiner globally. By 38, he managed 90% of the oil refined in the U.S.

By the age of 50, he was the richest man in the country. His entire life, from his decisions to his relationships, was focused on building his personal power and wealth.

However, at 53, Rockefeller's health deteriorated drastically. He suffered immense pain, lost all his hair, and could barely eat anything other than soup and crackers. Despite his wealth, he was miserable. His physicians predicted he wouldn't live another year.

Facing his mortality, Rockefeller had an epiphany. He realized that his vast wealth was meaningless if he couldn't take it with him. Recognizing this, he made a significant decision.

He called his attorneys, accountants, and managers, declaring his intention to devote his wealth to hospitals, research, and charitable causes. This led to the creation of the Rockefeller Foundation, which funded major medical discoveries, including Penicillin and cures for Malaria, Tuberculosis, and Diphtheria.

Remarkably, once Rockefeller began to give back, his health improved dramatically. Although expected to die at 53, he lived until the age of 98.

Rockefeller discovered the power of gratitude and philanthropy, giving away the majority of his wealth. This act not only healed him but also made him whole.

In his later years, he reflected in his diary:

“God taught me that everything belongs to Him, and I am merely a channel to fulfill His wishes. My life has been a long, happy journey; full of work and play. I let go of worry, and God was good to me every day.”

The Legend of Ògbìgbònìànràn: The Giant Warrior of Idolofin Quarters, Ado Ekiti

In the heart of Ekiti land, particularly in the vibrant community of Idolofin Quarters in Ado Ekiti, the legend of Ògbìgbònìànràn stands as a monumental figure in the annals of Yoruba history. Renowned for his extraordinary height and unparalleled strength, Ògbìgbònìànràn was at least five feet taller than anyone in his community, making him a literal and figurative giant among men.

A Warrior's Valor

Ògbìgbònìànràn's life was defined by his incredible feats on the battlefield. Known for his unmatched martial skills and strategic brilliance, he led the Ekiti forces through numerous battles, securing the safety and sovereignty of Ekiti land. His presence on the battlefield was both inspiring and intimidating; his towering figure alone was enough to strike fear into the hearts of enemies and embolden his own warriors.

One of his most legendary exploits was a decisive battle where Ògbìgbònìànràn, against overwhelming odds, led a small Ekiti force to victory over a much larger invading army. Using his intimate knowledge of the terrain and brilliant ambush tactics, he outmaneuvered the enemy, ensuring the security and autonomy of Ekiti land. His strategic acumen and physical prowess were key to this and many other victories, making him a revered figure in the region's history.

The Marriage Eve: A Display of Unmatched Strength

The tales of Ògbìgbònìànràn's strength were not confined to the battlefield. One of the most celebrated stories in Idolofin Quarters is the account of his marriage eve. As a traditional gesture to impress his in-laws and demonstrate his capability, Ògbìgbònìànràn performed an unimaginable feat. He carried an entire ìrókò tree—a massive and dense hardwood tree—on his shoulders. This tree was intended to be used for making firewood, a symbol of his ability to provide and protect.
