Air Bnb started with just an email!
Airbnb was founded in August 2008 by Brian Chesky, Joe Gebbia, and Nathan Blecharczyk in San Francisco. The idea originated when Chesky and Gebbia, struggling to pay their rent, decided to rent out air mattresses in their living room to attendees of a local design conference who couldn’t find hotel accommodations. They created a website called "Air Bed & Breakfast," offering not just a place to sleep, but also a breakfast experience.

The initial success of this venture led to the development of the platform, which expanded beyond air mattresses to include various types of accommodations. In 2009, Airbnb attracted its first major investment from venture capitalist Paul Graham and Y Combinator, which helped it grow rapidly. The company further expanded internationally and introduced the concept of home-sharing, where individuals could rent out spare rooms or entire properties.

By the 2010s, Airbnb had become a global business, challenging the traditional hospitality industry. It has since evolved into a platform offering not just rooms but unique stays in various locations worldwide. As of today, Airbnb is a multi-billion-dollar company, revolutionizing the way people travel and stay around the world.

Mazingira Day was well embraced by as they marked a historic milestone of 30km trek along the Dongo Kundu bypass starting from Sabasaba where over 2000 participants gathered to test their endurance while promoting environmental sustainability through walking and reducing carbon emissions.

The energy and unity were palpable as people pushed through, dancing their way across the scenic Dongo Kundu bridges—from Mwache to Tsunza Viaduct and Mteza bridge.

Meet the largest artificial beach in the world, located in Miyazaki, Japan. The SEAGAIA OCEAN DOME is approximately the size of 6 football fields and can accommodate up to 10,000 people. It also has a retractable roof, which opens on hot days and closes on rainy or cold days. In addition to having shops and attractions, it has artificial waves up to 2 meters high and even has an artificial volcano that is activated every 15 minutes.

ICON OF THE SEA is the largest cruise ship in the world, with a gross tonnage of 250,800 and measuring 1,196 feet in length. It has a passenger capacity of 7,600 and accommodates 2,350 crew members. The ship features 20 decks, with 18 accessible to passengers.

The vessel includes a range of innovative amenities, such as the largest waterpark at sea called Thrill Island, which boasts six record-breaking waterslides. There are seven pools on board, including the largest swim-up bar at sea, Swim & Tonic, and nine whirlpools.

The ship is divided into eight distinct neighborhoods, each offering unique experiences. For dining, there are over 20 venues, and for entertainment, there are 15 live music venues and bars. Icon of the Seas is also environmentally advanced, powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), making it one of the most eco-friendly ships in the Royal Caribbean fleet.
