Ever wondered why the same people who shouted "hosanna hosanna" would shout "crucify him" less than a week later? Why a disciple would be ready to take a bribe to snitch on the man he had spent 3 years of his life with?
Its disappointment. Jesus disappointed them. He failed to live up to their expectations. At the time Israel was under the rule of the Romans and they were really oppressed. And Romans were very cruel, that's why they would crucify anyone who went against their rule to hang there as an example to others who dared defy their authority.
And the Jews thought Jesus would either politically or miraculously bring the Roman reign to an end and bring them freedom. If he could perform miracles he can surely kill all the Romans with a single word or lead an uprising to topple the Roman rule.
Instead he went on to whip his own jews in the temple and saying he will destroy the temple,very symbol of God's presence in the city. For them the symbol was more important than God himself. This irked them and when they got a chance to get rid of him, they didn't hesitate. That's why they preferred Barabbas because he was a political activist / revolutionary.
To them living this life in freedom was better than living an eternity of freedom.
And today the same disappointment continues. People hate Jesus because they feel that Jesus doesn't intervene in their financial and political situations. To them that Jesus of eternity is not important if they are currently being oppressed by sickness and poverty. That's why we are twisting the gospel so that we can make Jesus attractive. But in the process people become frustrated and hate church the more because of putting prosperity before eternity.
Jesus said "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and its righteousness and the rest shall be added unto you" Jesus main mission was establishing the kingdom of God in the hearts of men. But men don't see the kingdom of God in their hearts as priority. They want to be free to do whatever their hearts desire than seek the kingdom of God, after all it can wait.
To Jesus, believing in him was more important than healing you. And that's why He kept saying, your faith has made you whole. It is your faith in me (Jesus) that has made you whole. When the boat was perishing, the disciple asked Jesus "don't you care that we are going to perish?" and he responded "where is your faith?" The priority wasn't the circumstances but their faith, because if your faith is right your circumstances can change.
Has Jesus disappointed you? Check your priorities, do they match his?

I could tell you about money, but it will end at death.
I could tell you about education, but it will end at death
I can tell you about all the things that this world has to offer, but they are so temporary that when you die they become useless.
But I choose to tell you about SALVATION, this will transition even to eternity.
God himself says that there's another life after this one, and if we believe in his son Jesus, we shall become heirs of eternity with Him.
This is not a mob thing, its not a family thing, it is a personal thing. You make your own choice. Forget what everyone is saying or doing and think about your eternal destiny. Make a choice to believe in Jesus and make him your Lord and savior.
For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
Romans 10:10
If you would like to give your life to Christ recite these words
Lord Jesus, I choose to believe in you this day, that I may be made right with God, and I confess with my mouth that from this minute I have put my faith in Jesus, to be my Lord and savior. Thank you for saving me. I denounce the works of the enemy and choose to live for you only. Write my name in the book of life that after this temporary life, I may spend eternity with you Jesus. Amen.
If you have recited that prayer believe it in your heart that now you are saved. Get a church where you can fellowship and grow in the word. Go and testify that you are now saved. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your families & friends. Now comes the New year 2024. I just wish to say thank you for your support through the year 2023. As 2024 approaches I want to keep it simple and say, let not the words of your mouth poison your year. Life & death are in the power of the tongue. Those who love it will eat of its fruit (Proverbs 18:21)
Speak good things for the approaching year.
Speak from the faith perspective.
For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh (Luke 6:45b) . So it means you need to believe it to speak it.
They overcame him by the blood and the word of their testimony (Rev 12:11)
If you have nothing to say, just hold your peace and say nothing, for careless words lead to judgment (Matthew 12:36)

I have seen this to be true, opinion shapers, once they make their statements they don't bother or get irritated by comments. They concentrate on their next move.
Listen to advice but don't let negative opinions pull you down.

There comes a time in life where even the helper needs help, the counselor needs counseling, the doctor needs a doctor, the preacher needs someone to preach to him, the encourager needs someone to encourage him.
The people you look up to and admire are at certain points in their life at the lowest. Even Jesus was there too when he prayed, if it is thy will move this cup from me.
So don't think for a moment that you are at the lowest alone. People are or have been there and they pulled through. They were not sure if they would make it across but eventually they did. You too will make it. Keep the faith, step each step at a time. Let this song encourage you.

There comes a time when you are the only help you can find for you.
David was in such a situation once. He came home and found everything gone. The men he was with turned on him. And its recorded that they cried until they had no more strength to cry. Please understand those were not just wimps but men who fought alongside David crying till they had no more strength left. It gets there sometimes. Ask anyone who has spent a night in hospital corridors. Ask anyone who has lost money to conmen. Ask anyone who has lost a loved one. Ask anyone who had to endure the words "its your fault".....
That's what David was going through, the men were blaming him for the capture of their property. He was double dejected but its recorded 1 Samuel 30:6 KJV : but David encouraged himself in the Lord.
Ever asked yourself "why did God let this happen?" "where was God when all this happened?"
They are very valid questions and David would have asked himself the same questions. Maybe he did. But later he encouraged himself in the Lord. Other versions say he found strength in the Lord.
When situations are crazy and you got nowhere to turn, allow yourself to find strength in the Lord. It was like pushing himself in believing in God while every inch of himself was saying no. He defied the temptation of losing his faith in the height of the circumstances. It's a tough call. And it hurts but afterwards he asked God, "if I pursue them will I capture them, and God said Yes"
He may not seem to have helped you when you were getting in to the situation, but he will help you get back up.
Find strength to give God a chance.

In the corporate world, a branch offers products or services as per the expectations of the Head Quarters.
For example Coca-Cola has bottling outlets all over the world that process and distribute Coca-Cola products, placing them within the reach of the consumer. The product is supposed to meet the standards set by the Coca-Cola headquarters in Atlanta Georgia, United States. If a branch like Almasi (Mt Kenya bottlers) in Nyeri County messes with the products, there will be a long chain of explanation expected.
Once in a while Coca-Cola carries out market surveys to get feedback from the customers on their experience with their products. Whether they enjoyed the products and areas of improvement.
John 15 Jesus says He is the true vine and we are the branches and the Father is the vine dresser. A structure of corporate governance where God the father is the executive director, Jesus is the COO, The Holy Spirit is the HR and we Christians are the branches who produce and distribute the spiritual products (fruits) to reach the end users (the world). When Jesus called Peter 3 times he told him '... feed my sheep, place the food within their reach.'
The bottom line is we are coworkers with Christ (1 Cor 3:9-13, Eph 2:10) supposed to do good works that will make the world experience the heavenly products. What a privilege and honor to be a distributor of the spiritual fruits which God has deposited in us and entrusted on us.
May we be faithful to ensure that which was left in our care we accomplish so that when the HQ comes to review our performance, we won't be put to shame.
