One of the things I remember about my nanna Fipe was her gesture of care. For everyone. She made room at the table for you. She made time to listen to you and hold you. Flowers is one way that I can translate this kind of love & care that she had.

It really is the small things on days like today.

I hope you’ve all had a great week with lots of rest ahead.

I’m looking forward to releasing the dried wreaths!! I’ve had fun making & foraging bits & pieces for these. Can’t wait to share them with you soon 🤎

Together with a special friend & fellow florist , we completed 4 hauora floral workshops in 2023! From never running a single workshop in our lives to throwing ourselves into the deep & spending an entire Sunday to write our proposal for each workshop. Trying to convince Te Whatu Ora why this initiative is important for our people. There wasn’t a doubt in our ability to run these workshops & not even a doubt that our proposal for funding would be overlooked tbh..if that statement sounds “big headed”, alg 😂 the reality is that 1 in 5 of every adult in aotearoa is battling with mental health & if what we have in our hands can be used as a tool for that 1 to hold them up when needed, than that’s what we will provide. It’s more than a service. It’s creating resilient & healthier communities at the end of the day.

Our final report is in & our final workshop completed in June. There’s an urge to run again soon with more likeminded people, with higher spirits for those that need it. Looking ahead, I see a consistency in these workshops for every group - for tradies, to teachers, to young adults, to sport teams, for elderlys, for our youth. Looking ahead I see this as an outlet for well-being, a lifestyle.

Right now we reflect, we open the discussion, we go back & see what worked & what didn’t. Begin again for the new season.

Bula vinaka! I’m Talei. The little dreamer behind Fipe's Studio. I'm from Vanua Levu in Fiji. I was raised by my nanna Fipe & the Powell family in Levuka, Ovalau for 10 years before moving to Aotearoa.

I am a full time mama, sometimes florist. You can expect flowers, workshops, events, even playlists + poetry.

I thought it was about time FS transitioned from instagram to here!

A massive vinaka vaka levu to everyone that’s supported this little flower studio during the 2023 season. It’s been my honour & and ultimate pleasure to have had some part in your special day!

I thought last year was my most spine stretching seasons but looks like 2024 will be even more adventurous. As this is my first year of motherhood, Fipe's Studio will be creating a selection of pretty things, poems + playlists, along side other creatives.

I look forward to sharing the new season ahead with all of you.

Entertaining her mini assistant + playing fetch with her doggie who doesn’t actually fetch 🫠 Dahlias are in full swing this month & its been a treat to play with flowers again after a long hiatus. How’s your week so far? ✨
