This morning Jesus seems to say "You can reject and neglect and ignore me. You can claim i dont exist. You can use the breath of life i have given you to curse me. You can join forces with my sworn enemy to slander my Name. You can spit full on my face and hang me between heaven and earth to die. But there is one thing you can never do. And that is to make Me stop LOVING you".

His Love is more than tongue can tell.
Have a lovely day pals.

John 5:8
▶️ You must not be dipped into the troubled waters to be healed.
▶️ You must not be at the mercy of your fellow to get a chance to be dipped into the waters.
▶️ Jesus may just ask you to Rise Up and Walk again. He is able, He did it and can still do it today if only we would take Him by His word.

Happy week

*WHAT IS LIFE?*

We have heard of many statements about life like: Life is too short to worry about money!, I'm not sure I want to spend the rest of my life with him, accidents are part of life, he doesn't know what he really wants in/out of life. I am just trying to give you a broader view of how people look at the word LIFE. Dictionary defines life as the period between birth and death, or the experience or state of being alive: In other words, life is any system capable of performing functions such as eating, metabolizing, excreting, breathing, moving, growing, reproducing, and responding to external stimuli. James 4:14 the Bible asks, *For what is your life?* The writer compares life with a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

One time Pst. Kamutu delivered a sermon on how we take for granted the gift of life. He asked in the course of the sermon, how many thank God for their nails when they wake up? The point he was bringing home is how we take for granted some of our body parts. You won't know the value of the nails till you stumble on a stone na ing'ooke. The pain is unbearable. God has given us the gift of life free, how do we use this gift? Our days are numbered. Psalms 90:10 says the days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. In vs 12 the psalmist puts a request, *So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.*

Brethren life's too short. The psalmist says in Psalms 103:15-16 that _*As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.*_You go to social media and you will see shocking posts of untimely deaths. A lady friend posted in her timeline on Sabbath morning and the post read, "Happy Sabbath". Come the following morning on Sunday, I got the breaking news she was no more. She rested. Pause and ask yourself the meaning of life. If you met the cruel hands of death today, how sure are you of eternity past? James 4:14 says we know not what shall be on the morrow. Hebrews 3:7-8 admonishes us not to harden our hearts should we hear his voice today. Paul concludes by saying, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation {2 Corinthians 6:2}. What is LIFE?

God bless us all.

Jayalo's Morning Manna

*HOW FAITHFUL ARE YOU?*

Good morning my church family. Have been away from all the walls I serve this manna and must appreciate those who have been checking on me inbox. Hata wachungaji huenda leave 😄, thank God we're back. Today we draw our Manna from the book of Genesis 24. Yesterday I saw a video going rounds of a maidservant who was parting ways with her employer for holidays. The video was emotional seeing how the kids were crying on learning "auntie" as they are normally referred to was leaving them. You could hear how the man of the home was pleading with her to come back. From the video if it was not "cooked", then I can conclude the maidservant was very faithful to her masters and true to her duty. Not most "aunties" are a darling of the family especially the small kids. Some are brutal and we've seen and heard of them. One faithful servant we learn from the Bible is Eliezer. If you didn't know about him, then he was Abraham's trusted servant. Chapter 24 vs 2 gives reference to him as Abraham's eldest servant, in charge of his house, and ruled over all that he had.

Eliezer is tasked by Abraham to seek a wife for Isaac. EGW says in PP 175 that if there is any subject which should be carefully considered and in which the counsel of older and more experienced persons should be sought, it is the subject of marriage; if ever the Bible was needed as a counselor, if ever divine guidance should be sought in prayer, it is before taking a step that binds persons together for life. This is the task Abraham tasked his servant with out of the many servants. It was a task that was so dear to Abraham. It needed the counsel of a trusted/faithful one, someone experienced enough. Look at vs 3 and 9. Abraham makes Eliezer swear by the Lord, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that he shalt not take a wife unto Isaac of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom they dwell: And just to understand how serious the task was, Eliezer the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him concerning that matter. It was not a simple task by all standards.

What's my message for us this morning? Ask yourself how trusted you are wherever you are. At your work place, in your dealings with people, can you be trusted. If your boss was to be away, would you be entrusted with the running of the firm? God needs a faithful people to partner with Him in the work of salvation. The task is a heavy and enormous one and needs faithful servants who He can depend on. The song writer asks "Can the Lord depend on you" like Abraham depended on Eliezer to get Isaac the son of promise a wife? The world is perishing in sin, God is sending us to go out and seek the lost of His fold and bring them to Him, can you be trusted with the duty? To the church in Syrmina He tells, "Be faithful unto death and I will give you a crown. I don't know the crown Eliezer received but unto us is a crown of victory after the work is done. Be Faithful. I dedicate to you the song "Ni Mwaminifu" by the Berean Gospel Ministers.

God bless us all.

"What will the people say?"
This phrase has made many big dreams buried without actualization.

Come out bravely, put it before the Lord. He's faithful, He will walk us through each and every step.

My good friend Jaduong Otiboh did this piece in 2015 after the Papal visit to Kenya. 👇👇
LESSONS FOR ADVENTISTS FROM THE PAPAL MASS

Time management!
1. PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS;
If Sabbath School should start at 8:00am let it be and participants informed early enough not bumping onto the adherents with Mission Quarter and Secretary's report at 9am. This is disorganisation and runs through the whole day.

2. NO UNNECESSARY GREETINGS
Attend a sabbath of combined Adventist churches and you'll be surprised at how we love recognition. All elders, pastors and influential leaders feel slighted if they're not given a chance to greet the congregation. Add their wives and broods into the mix and you begin to understand why Divine Service starts two hours late.😩 We know our elders. They (and their families) don't need to be introduced every sabbath. 😊

3. NOT EVERY CHOIR WILL GET A CHANCE
Every choir wants to sing just before or during Divine Service to get maximum audience.😀 There's a reason Song Service was pushed to afternoon. Shifting it to the morning wastes time.

4. HARAMBEES KILL TIME
If you're invited to a major sabbath, be sure there'll be a harambee. I'm all for harambees but what's disgusting is how we can be asked to do three harambees before lunch time. One for church building, followed by another for camp meeting, followed by another for a Fundi to fix the gate.😔 And that's before the ushers come for your tithe and offering.🙉😩

5. NO IMPROMPTU MEETINGS
I didn't see the Pope calling bishops aside for a quick meeting behind the pavilion.😀 Everything was planned out to perfection. We'll do well to emulate.

6. KEEP IT NICE AND SHORT
This is to those speakers who preach for two hours.
I know, the Lord's House is not an entertainment hall but the duty to keep it nice and short still rings much.

Wonderful lessons.

*PAIN OF THE CROSS!*

This morning we get our scripture from the book of Isaiah 53:4-5 and I read in your hearing..... Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.....Friends some of us have been privileged to watch the movie Passion of Christ. I want to draw your attention never to forget the real picture of that first Good Friday – the pain and suffering that Jesus went through willingly for you and for me. The lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world – slaughtered by one of the most cruel forms of death known at that time. Just take a minute and close your eyes- transfix your minds on the real scene and focus there for a moment – Christ the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the whole world.

Jesus was bearing the cross and its pain on our behalf. He was the spotless Son of God who new no sin but was made sin. On the way to calvary the scene becomes unbearable. Jesus is fatigued. The weight of the cross is too much. The soldiers then compel a man by the name Simon of Cyrene to help Jesus carry His cross but this was short-lived. I don't know what cross you are bearing child of God. The cross is symbolic of pain and suffering. In your suffering and pain, you will come across a Simon of Cyrene, but that will not mark the end of your suffering. It will be short lived relief and the pain will resume as long as we are in this world full of sin. In his pain and fatigue, His body sagged, its weight hung on the nails in his wrists and his knees bent forward. His arms in the form of a vee, the pain in His wrists was beyond bearing and the muscles of his chest were momentarily paralysed so He couldn’t breath properly. Jesus had to lift Himself up on the nail through his bleeding feet so that He could breathe.

Until the pain in His feet was unbearable, He would let his torso sag lower and lower until He was again hanging by his wrists. And so his agony would alternate from his wrists to his feet let alone his bloody sweat, the tears in his flesh from the flogging and the crown of thorns. My Saviour and your Saviour became a meal indeed for the flies and the knats in the scorching midday sun. Friends the path to calvary was no joke. What cross is burdening you today? Have you taken it to Jesus? In this world we shall all manner of crosses but good news is that Jesus bore the cross of salvation for you and for me. Keep your head high, though the path to calvary be full of thorns, trust in the end product, there is SALVATION.

Ka wasekalo aora to wanawe msalaba. Obed msalaba mar tuoche, thoo kata pek moramora mawakaloe e piny ka, nyathi Nyasaye ok ne wating' kendo kwachopo Jerusalem dala. {After we shall have crossed Jordan, we'll surrender all our crosses: be it the cross of sickness, death or any other suffering in this world. Child of God, we won't carry any crosses in the new Jerusalem}.

God bless us all.

*STRIVE TO ENTER*

For almost 4 years now I have not had a TV screen in my room. I stopped watching TV because I was tired of politics in every prime time news 365 days in a year. I resorted to listening to radio. There is a program aired on Ramogi Fm early in the morning "Chiedho e Muma" aka perusing through the Bible passages. In the program, the presenter asks a question and the respondents are to quote the exact book, chapter and verse. The first to get the right answer is gifted with a Bible. I have always tried to get through in vain through all platforms. I answer on their page, through text message number provided and WhatsApp but my my message has never been read. Worst is the phone call. I have ever arrived to go through but in vain. Funny enough, some will call in every program of the day and their calls will go through with a lot of ease. I have always wondered how they do it.

Brethren to strive is to to try to achieve a result; to make strenuous effort; to try earnestly and persistently. It's giving your all for a cause. Jesus tells us in the book of Luke 13:24 to _Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able._ This implies to me then that it's not a walk in the park. An athlete doesn't wake up one day and goes to the pitch to run a race. They will do rigorous trainings and on the day of the race you will witness the results of the trainings. How they put all energy and tactics striving to win the race. But sadly, not all win. Just like the example of the radio, we are so many callers with right answers but only one will go through and wins. Jesus says many willl seek to enter in but shall not be able to. What shall make make them not enter? I once worked with a matatu Sacco plying the Nairobi/Kisumu/Kakamega routes. During the festive holidays or rush hours when there is scarcity of vehicles, we wouldn't be booking but customers would strive by their own to enter the vehicles. Some would even strive to enter through the windows. All I am trying to bring to you is that in the heavenly journey we must strive. It's not for the lazy. Some too could strive and enter but again step down because their luggage couldn't fit in the boots. It's like reaching the airport and told your luggage is in excess of the recommended weight and can't enter the plane with them. After striving hard to secure everything you thought was necessary only to be left because of excess luggage.

One writer says that There is no such thing as a truly converted person living a helpless, useless life. It is not possible for us to drift into heaven. No sluggard can enter there. If we do not strive to gain an entrance into the kingdom, if we do not seek earnestly to learn what constitutes its laws, we are not fitted for a part in it. Those who refuse to co-operate with God on earth would not co-operate with Him in heaven. It would not be safe to take them to heaven. {EGW - COL 280}. Even as we strive to enter, we must abide by the rules and regulations. Yes we are in the church but still have with luggages the devil can't allow us put down. These will not allow us walk in the narrow path and even to enter the narrow gate of heaven. Strive, strive, strive but ensure you abide by the rules and regulations of the journey.

God bless us all.

*TRUE STEWARDS OR GAMBLERS?*

Today when you tune any radio station, what has taken preeminence is not news at all but gambling. Old and young men sit in gambling booths to try their luck, women and men alike are all over sending Kshs 100, 50, 5 in order to rembesha maisha. We are caught up in get rich quick schemes that we forget the basic Bible principles. In Proverbs 13 vs 11 the Bible says that *Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.* Let me use this old time principle to illustrate a point. When we were growing up when love existed in families and communities, families would borrow things like unga. Your mum would send you to Mama Awino for unga and upon return would ask you whether she pressed it down or not so that in return she would do the same. You didn't expect her to return a pressed down when it was not. It's called equal measure.

Brethren the church today I am sorry to say has strayed from the gospel of Jesus crucified to a gospel of prosperity. The teaching and encouragement from the pulpits is for the children of God to give in exchange for blessings. Almost all the church programs from beginning to end of the year have become monetary. It's giving and giving. Deuteronomy 16:17 puts it that every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee. Paul in the New Testament makes it more clearer that *Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.* {2 Corinthians 9:7}. Many televangelists call it "kupanda mbegu". We're told by our generous givings we are like lending/loaning God {casting our bread on many waters for we shalt find it after many days Eccl 11:1. This is the same God who tells us that _every beast of the forest is His, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. He knows all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are His. If He were hungry, He would not tell thee: for the world is His, and the fulness thereof.{Psalms 50:10-12}_
Our giving today to some extent is out of pressure to please the clergy. We give because we want blessings because kipimo tumepimia Mungu ndicho Atatupimia {Luke 6:38}. This is a corrupt religion, gambling for God's blessings. God talks of Israel's corrupt religion and unfortunately, that's where we are as believers today. The Lord says He is not delighted in their sacrifices. _To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and *I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.*_. We cannot bribe God brethren. Let's give from deep down our hearts seeing into it how He the Lord has blessed us. But should we continue gambling for God's blessings, He will take no pleasure in our offerings. To some of us, the desire to escape poverty has led us to neglect the temple, but this neglect has brought upon us that which we feared. Haggai 1:6 says.. Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. Ask yourself, are you giving because you have felt God's blessings or you're gambling for God's blessings?

God bless us all

*A GRAVE IN THE BELLY OF DOGS*

"Last Respect". These two words are synonymous with death and can make you to stop everything you are doing, take leave, fuel your car and drive for several kilometers just to pay your last respect. Most sad and unfortunate is that when the diseased was still akive, as they were struggling with issues or even hospitalized and bedridden you couldn't lift your phone to call or even Wuosap on free mode to check on them. There's nothing like paying last respect but just appeasing our consciousness that we saw their dead bodies. Many of us have invested in benevolent schemes just to see our loved ones are accorded descent burials. The scheme providers will ensure the departed is clothed in nice attires some didn't adorn while alive, they'll provide a satisfactory casket, lowering gears and gazebo tents. All these we do to a dead body. We spend thousands for a one off event. I am not here to persuade you not to give your loved one a descent send-off. I am here to tell you that the grave of Jezebel, King Ahab's most powerful wife is in the belly of dogs. The Bible says in 2 Kings 9:10 that _As for Jezebel, her body will be eaten by dogs in the town of Jezreel. There won't be enough left of her to bury."_{Contemporary English Version}.

No two biblical figures are more synonymous with evil than Judas and Jezebel. For more than 2,000 years, they have evolved as such enduring symbols of male treachery and female depravity that it's highly unlikely any Christian children have ever been baptized in their names. The story of Judas is well known. Not so is Jezebel's. The events of her life, as told in 1 and 2 Kings, are probably unfamiliar to many. Jezebel was a woman of fierce energy, who destroyed all those who opposed her; most of the prophets of Yahweh were killed at her command. These cruel and despotic actions provoked the righteous wrath of Elijah; according to 1 Kings 17. When Naboth refused to part with his vineyard (“the inheritance of his fathers”), Jezebel falsely charged him with blaspheming “God and the king,” which led to Naboth’s death by stoning. Jezebel was an iron lady. She was the center of power and authority during the reign of Ahab. At the climax of her long struggle to bring pagan worship to the kingdom of Israel, Queen Jezebel pays a terrible price. Thrown from a high window, her unattended body is devoured by dogs, fulfilling the prediction of Elijah, Yahweh's prophet and Jezebel's nemesis.

Jezebel was a king's daughter, a princess/queen for that matter and married to a king {Ahab}. By all standards, Jezebel deserved a descent burial. But when Jehu ordered for the burial of her remains, 2 Kings 9:35 says they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands. The Bible says whoever kills by the sword shall also be killed by the same. Jezebel with all her influence was buried in the belly of dogs. Brethren when the trumpet shall sound when the King cometh, from which grave will you be raised? For every eye shall see Him both righteous and wicked. When saints will be raised in the graves at Machpelah, I don't know where Jezebel's will be. Pray that your grave be found at Machpelah not in the belly of dogs.

God bless us all.

*ONLY _ONE_ IN A NAMELESS VILLAGE*

For the short/long period I stayed in the capital city of Kenya one thing I learnt is that in many urban setups, the common law is that almost every high end/middle class estate is sorrounded by mushrooming slums. This are the places where most of the mama mboga, mama fua, watu wa mjengo reside. I am persuaded that no one would live his/her native rural village to go live in such places. Brethren it's circumstances that make us find ourselves in these places otherwise we didn't dream of that kind of life. Here we live regardless of our ethnicity. Our common problem here is the high cost of living. In the book of Luke 17:12, the Bible records that Jesus entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: Three things to note ▶️ The village is has no name. It's called a certain village. I want to assume it was despised and that's why it didn't have a name, ▶️ In the village are ten men whose names are not mentioned but described by their condition, ten lepers. I am convinced they had names. ▶️ Thirdly, they stood a far off. There was no room for them to mingle around with the rest.

Brethren Jesus's initial mission was not in this "certain village". Jesus had a mission to Jerusalem but He again was to pass through Samaria and Galilee. I want to assume in between these two cities was the "certain village". Here the lepers were. Let me share with you some things about leprosy in case you didn't know. ▶️ They were only allowed to wear torn clothes ▶️ their heads were bare {unkempt}, ▶️ they were to put a covering upon their upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean whenever they were walking in the street and ▶️ they were to dwell alone; without the camp {Leviticus 13:45-46}. Some commentaries say they wore "gara" {shakers} that would make noise as they walked to signal the oncoming people. I think this was for the dumb/deaf. Leprosy was a dreaded disease. Here is how Aaron described it when the Lord struck Miriam with leprosy. _*Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb.*_ You can try to picture it out. No one would entertain a leprous around hata awe ni family member.

Brethren these ten lepers had one thing for Jesus. Luke 17:13 says _*And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.*_ This didn't happen in turns. They shouted at one go. They knew Jesus was able to change their lives. So Jesus suspends his mission to Jerusalem for the sake of ten lepers {ten dirty, unkempt and naked men}. He commands them to go show themselves to the priest and while on the way, all the ten realized they were cleansed. All this time Jesus is patiently waiting to heal one soul. So the Bible says only one of them{a Samaritan}, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God. Brethren Jesus mission in this nameless village reaped only one soul. God is not a God of numbers. Heaven rejoices when only one sinner sincerely repents and comes home. You may sing a whole week, preach a whole week or many hours and only 1 soul heeds the call, be not discouraged. That's the soul that has deterred Jesus from reaching Jerusalem. Are you ready to stop and have compassion for the outcasts, the less fortunate, those despised by their families and communities? Show them the compassion of Jesus who was ready and patient to save only one in a nameless village.

God bless us all.

*STAYING LONGER MAYBE DISASTROUS*

Luos have a saying that "wendo ndalo ariyo" meaning a visitor is for two days only. From the third day he is no longer a visitor but a member and can join in the chores of the family. Brethren staying at a place may make you accustomed to the traditions of others and forget your own. You can stay somewhere for a long time gossiping mpaka uanze kusema vitu mwenzako amesema tu mkiwa hapo thinking you got the udaku from somewhere else. As we were growing up in the village, we bathed in the lake. One could come out of water and bask on the rocks and after a while you will be as white as ash. You had to dip yourself into the waters again. May be the reason the Luos coined the phrase "k**a iluokorie ok itwoye" {you don't dry yourself where you've bathed 😂😂😂 {don't know if I translated it well}. Back to the Bible and the book is Genesis 26:8. The Bible says _And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife._

Isaac is at Gerar. The Lord appeared unto him there, and tells him not to go down into Egypt; but to there. The Lord tells him in vs 3 to sojourn in that land, and promises to be with thim, and will bless him; to perform the oath which He swore unto Abraham his father. While still at Gerar the men of the place asked him of his wife; and he said, Rebekah is her sister: for he feared to say, She is his wife; lest the men of the place should kill him for Rebekah; because she was fair to look upon. Isaac has lied about Rebekah. Brethren, there is a way when two people walk, people can deduce something about them. There is a way you hug your Mverified and someone's Mverified. Christians were called so at Antioch because how they presented themselves. Isaac forgot he had lied and started sporting with his wife. This sporting was unusual of sister-brother. It seems it was an intimate sporting. I am trying to imagine how it was. You can help me imagine too. So Abimelech happens to be looking out a window and sees the two sporting. The Bible says he had been at Gerar a long time. He forgot he had lied.

How many of us have forgotten we are in Christ and in secrecy have gone back to the world practicing all we did before we knew Christ? Isaac is perfecting his father's lies, but because he's stayed longer forgets and starts sporting with Rebekah in a manner likely to suggest. Many have been in the church mpaka they forgot their mission and since they see He has delayed in His coming have gone back to the world. This morning brethren I urge you not to stay long in sin, sin is disastrous. Christ's coming is at nigh. Isaac felt home at Gerar and started sporting his youthful. Never feel home and safe in the world where you have sojourned.

God bless us all
