Khamsathone wins in Laos National Games 🇱🇦🇱🇦🇱🇦

Top national team boxer Khamphouvanh Khamsathone emerged triumphant in the 11th Laos National Games which concluded recently in the Xiengkhuang Province.

The 25-year-old Khamsathone, who started representing Laos in the ASBC Asian Youth Championships 2014 and won bouts in recent international competitions, beat Bounmanh Kongnakhone for the men's flyweight (51kg) title.

The 11th edition of the National Games took place in the Xiengkhuang Province in Laos for the very first time. All of the 10 provinces and 2 ministry clubs represented the boxing competition of the Laos National Games in Xiengkhuang. The number of the boxers was 36 women and 50 men following the selections of the provincial teams.

Laos' best female pug Vilayphonh Vongphachanh, meanwhile, used her experience to post a convincing victory against Daomayuly Chanthilath in the women's flyweight (52kg) class.

Police’s Soutchay Chanthara, Army’s strong Songka Chanthavong and a local talent, the 2019 National Champion Soy Souvanthong earned the remaining female weight categories in the National Games.

Another national squad standout Sakhone Lasavongsy defeated Kipoy Phounvilay in the men's bantamweight (54kg) division. Souksahone Phoumsavane used his distance well against Phetdone Savatdy and he earned the title of the men’s featherweight (57kg). Army’s Jackthavy Siharath, Thep Souphalack and Police’s Soukanh Taipanyavong all controlled their finals in the Games.

A total of 12 champions–six each in the men's and women's categories–were crowned in the National Games participated by 50 men and 36 women boxers from 10 provinces and two ministry clubs.
