MRT DJs Association committee members 2024 to 2026.

Moratuwa DJ friendly meeting and formation of the association.

It was organized by the Moratuwa DJs and held on 15th October 2023 at 9 am at Piliyandala sun resort reception hall. Chamila Perera, Mahesh Bandara, and M.u Gunathilake, Shilanka Perera and others can be mentioned as the people who took the initiative in organizing this through the MRT Official DJs Group whatsapp group, which has more than 70 members.

Mr. Chamila Perera (cooljays) sponsored the backdrop needed for this and Mr. anu Entertainment sponsored Mr. Anupriya for the Entertainment segment.

It is highly commendable that 28 members participated in the event despite the current rainy weather.

On that day, DJ MARK welcomed all the members who were present by starting the initial talk. Then the main address was done by Mr. Chamila Perera. There he welcomed all those present and expressed his condolences for the death of Mr. Anupriya's father who separated from us a few days ago. In addition to this, the harsh experiences faced by DJs in the face of the Covid pandemic that we all faced 2 years ago were recalled. At that time, Mr. Chamila expressed his gratitude to the friends who provided financial and material support and it was stated that a part of it was given to Mr. Gishan who was in hospital during that time. In such difficult situations, we initiated the establishment of the association based on the unanimous decision of all those who participated by explaining the objectives of our organization as an association.

After that, Mr. Gishan thanked Mr. Michael Soysa and Mr. Chamila Perera who informed everyone during his hospitalization.

After that, they expressed their consent to establish this association as a union and to maintain the official panel for a period of 2 years. Mr. Chamila's name and Mr. Suraj's name were suggested for the position of the president of the association and Mr. Chamila proposed Mr. Suraj and said that he will work as a patron of this association in the future as he is going abroad for some time. The name of Mr. Mahesh Bandara was suggested for the post of Secretary. The name of Mr. Shilanka Perera was suggested for the post of treasurer. The name of Mr. M.u Gunathilaka was proposed for the post of Vice President. The name of Mr. Prasad Thilakaratne was proposed as the Deputy Secretary. The name of Mr. Sunanda Hettiarachchi was suggested as Deputy Treasurer. The names of Messrs. Virosh, Anupriya, Lasith and Sayuru were proposed as members of the Executive Committee by majority consent.

Then Mr. Suraj thanked everyone and explained the objectives as an association. An annual membership fee, was proposed which could be paid in lump sum or in installments and it was accepted by everyone to start from January 2024. It was agreed to maintain a bank account and use the money in a transparent manner to provide financial support in case of illness of the members, death of a member and for the future expenses of the association. Also, to provide a valid member ID card to all members and to represent the members as an association. Dedication was announced.

It was also informed that the problems arising between the members should be solved by each other and it should not be made an internal problem of the association.
Then Mr. Chamila Perera gave his farewell speech that he was going abroad and thanked all the members who were present in this inaugural meeting today and wished him well for a strong journey ahead as a committee.
