Because there is a story behind every tiny moment ♥️
A mother love 💗 Which I couldn’t find enough words to describe!
The mother of the bride is generally presented with the kiri kachchiya (a white cotton cloth) by the groom, atop a heppuwa with betel leaves, a giraya and the thread that was used to tie the two fingers.
This ritual is done to show the couple’s gratitude to the bride’s mother for raising a lovely woman. The white cloth depicts the kid being nourished by a mother’s milk. The mother of the bride will then walk backwards with the heppuwa and the white cloth held above her head. This is to show mutual respect to each other. ♥️

The arch of swords ceremony is an old military custom, which gives a symbolic pledge of loyalty to the newly married couple from their new Military family. A saber arch is a wedding tradition in which sabers or swords are used to salute a newly married couple. The bride and groom pass under an honorary arch of sabers, typically when leaving the chapel or church or stepping out from poruwa.
