Nollywood comic, John Okafor, better known as Mr Ibu, is dead, Channels Television has learnt.

A close associate of the family confirmed to Channels Television that the ace actor died on Saturday afternoon after he was moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Evercare Hospital, Lekki a few days ago.
Mr Ibu, 62, died of cardiac arrest after he had a relapse about a week ago and was rushed to the Lagos-based hospital.
Also, the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, confirmed the actor’s death.

When you tell these young Lib folks about the origin of their Blue Lake in Bomi Hills, they take it for joke and think you are making stories up. Blue Lake is NOT a natural Lake. It's what is called man made Lake. Swimming in that lake is done at your own risk. Blue lake is Not natural. An open pit mining operation once existed there. It's more than 1,000 feet to the bottom. There is an underground spring and there were several pumps running 24/7 pumping water out as the ore was being extracted. Mining operation ceased in 1976 and since then, the volume of water from the spring accumulated in addition to runoffs from storm water, the pit was filled; thus creating what is now called Blue Lake. Swimming is discouraged in that lake. You go swimming at your own risk. Lots of mining equipment were left at the bottom of the pit after the mine closed. Residue of dynamite from explosion during the years of digging out the iron ore are still there. Marine life is non-existent, it's even hard to see algae on the rocks. So my friend,,,,DO NOT GO SWIMMING IN THE BLUE LAKE.....

R***r finally reveals why he always wear an eye patch

Fast-rising musician, Michael Adebayo Olayinka popularly known as R***r has opened up on why he always cover one of his eyes.

The Bounce crooner made this disclosure during an interview after he was asked the secret behind his signature one-eyed look.

Responding, he said:

“My name is R***r. I don’t shoot literally but musically I shoot. The way a sniper closes one eye to aim and hit their target is how I am with my music, one eye is shut so I can focus well, aim and hit right with my songs and projects.”

R***r’s attention was also drawn to his colleague, Rema who recently decided to further his studies in Unilag, and he affirmed that education is definitely among his plans.

Police have been given extra time to question the Manchester United footballer Mason Greenwood on suspicion of r**e and sexual assault.
The 20-year-old was arrested on Sunday afternoon after a woman posted images, a video and audio online alleging he had assaulted her.
Greenwood has been held in custody since then and Greater Manchester police (GMP), who have not named the player, said detectives had now been given more time to question the suspect.
The footballer, regarded as one of United’s rising young stars, was suspended from playing for or training with the club until further notice after the allegations. He remains on full pay, the Guardian understands.

Nike have also moved to distance themselves from Greenwood. A statement on Monday read: “We have suspended our relationship with Mason Greenwood. We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation.”
The images and allegations were visible on the woman’s Instagram on Sunday morning but have since been deleted.
GMP said in a statement on Monday afternoon: “Detectives have been granted additional time to speak to a man in his 20s who is being held on suspicion of r**e and assault of a woman.
“Inquiries are ongoing and the victim is being offered specialist support. Popular Nigerian pastor, David Ibiyeomie, has laid a curse on internet fraudsters popularly known as Yahoo boys and police officers who work with them.

The clergyman who was preaching in his church recently, frowned at the works of the internet fraudsters.

According to him, their activities have led to the death of some persons who they have scammed off all their retirement benefits.


”Let me tell us these Yahoo boys. Stop! I am a man of God. You kill people every day. When you Yahoo somebody, it is stealing. Don’t quote it anyhow. It is stealing. Most people, all their retirement benefits, you take it and people die. I curse you in the name of Jesus.

It is a demonic, satanic way of getting money. Which kind of money is that? You are a thief. No matter how you colorize it, you are a thief.

You love stealing! I curse the root of it. Do you know how many people you have killed? Scam kills people. Some people, the whole of their retirement benefit…

You scam them and say you are buying car. What nonsense? You will get accident with that car!”

The clergyman also frowned at traditional rulers who bestow chieftaincy titles on internet fraudsters. He said such persons should be regarded as armed robbers.

He also laid curses on police officers who release arrested internet fraudsters after collecting bribes from them.

”And to the police, all the Yahoo boys, jail them, arrest them. If you take bribe from Yahoo boys, that money kill you! That blood money that you take will kill you.

Nigerian singer, Bella Shmurda has narrated how a goat helped his mother to give birth to him in a traditional hospital. According to Bella, delivery was hard for him mother at the time, but a goat outside the traditional hospital began to scream, and while it was screaming, the difficulty in childbirth ceased and his mother put to bed.

Bella Shmurda narrated:

“I was born around 3am in the midnight, My mum said it was so hard for her but there was Goat outside the traditional hospital screaming meeeeeeehhh.

KOBE BRYANT AND DAUGHTER GIANNA IMMORTALISED IN STATUE AT HELICOPTER CRASH SITE

A sculptor in Los Angeles has honored the anniversary of the deaths of Kobe and Gigi Bryant by placing a statue of the two at the site where they tragically passed away in 2020.

Artist Dan Medina created the 72kg (160lbs) bronze figure and then single-handedly took it up to the scene of the accident in Calabasas on Wednesday.

The piece is inscribed with the phrase 'Heroes come and go but legends are forever' and honours the other seven victims of the helicopter crash with their names on a plaque at the base of the statue.

Along with Bryant and his daughter, the other victims included Orange Coast College baseball coach John Altobelli, his wife Keri Altobelli and their daughter Alyssa, who was Gianna's teammate, Christina Ma**er, who helped Kobe coach his daughter's basketball team, Sarah Chester and her daughter Payton, who was also a member of Gianna's team, and the helicopter pilot Ara Zobayan.

The statue depicts Kobe looking down at Gianna, who was just 13-years-old at the time of her passing, with his left arm on her shoulder.

She's depicted carrying a basketball while looking up at her father, both of them wearing their respective basketball uniforms.

Whilst the sculpture is only a temporary piece, Medina told TMZSports that he is planning to display it every anniversary of the tragedy and on Bryant’s birthday.

He also said that he hopes the statue can become a permanent feature on the site.

"I think we need something like this to be installed on a permanent basis. It hasn’t been done yet and this is maybe a catalyst for that.

"But I’m willing to donate whatever’s here at no cost. That’s the hope, to find a way to have it permanently installed."

Medina decided a memorial was needed after he visited the site and found just "a few rocks and dried flowers."

The sculptor added that Bryant was much more than just a basketball player, explaining that he admired the star as an "intellect," a musician and a father.

"Every book he read, he made a point to contact the author. He spoke many languages, he learned how to play the piano on his own," Medina said.

Kobe and Gigi were on their way to a girls basketball game when the helicopter they were in crashed.

South African female Disc Jockey, Uncle Waffles, reportedly rejected the offer of a Nigerian billionaire who offered her 14m Naira for a one-night stand.
