If only words could describe how difficult of a post I'm about to write to all of you... I have always had a special place in my heart for photographing weddings, along with many other beautiful session I've had over the years. We moved from FL to TN just over 2 years ago, for several reasons, and one of those reasons was my health. I'm sure many of you have noticed a decline in my posts. This particular wedding I actually flew down to Florida to capture, and not only has it taken me WAY too long to edit these beautiful photos, it took way too much out of me to photograph this event. My brides were patient as ever with me, but that's because over the years they have become family to me

I captured these beautiful photos during the huge snowfall we had back in January! Somehow I managed to finish editing them and apparently forgot to share them with everyone :) The cold weather has definitely set in this week, so at least they're appropriate for the season!

The magazine where my photos were recently published, asked us photographers to drop our favorite behind the scenes photos of ourselves. Now, realize, this doesn't happen often. Those of us that are used to always taking the photos, rarely get the opportunity to be photographed ourselves, especially during a session. I got a good giggle though because this has always been one of my all time favorites, for many many reasons 😊

I'm not crying, you are 😭

After years of enjoying all the photos I've taken of everyone and everything, I began submitting a few photos here and there for publications. I'm very used to the denials as there are many talented photographers out there. I love seeing other people's work, but as with most people, when it comes to my work I am my own worst critic. It's a never ending world of learning and sometimes, no matter how prepared you are for a shoot, things don't just always come together!

This particular maternity shoot was my very last session before I left Florida for Tennessee! My sweet cousin was expecting her second child and asked if there was any way for me to squeeze in a session for her. Everything was already packed, but I found my camera, and on my last afternoon in Florida I headed across the skyway bridge for one last photo shoot. There was no signal at the park, so it was a challenge finding one another, and they wound up exiting the park on accident and had to drive all the way back around to the entrance 😂

I was unfamiliar with this park, a storm was moving in on us, and I don't think I have to explain the challenges of having a toddler in tote! We found some spectacular views, and before I had even left the park I knew that these were going to be some of my personal favorites 💕 It took me a while to edit these photos since I was moving three states away, but the love I had for these photos once I saw them was absolutely indescribable! It felt so magical, that when I saw an upcoming contest for a Magical Maternity theme I knew this had to be it guys!!

It took me hours to decide which photos I wanted to submit, but with the help of my husband and my best friend we narrowed them down one by one. Months had passed and I never received a response. I figured it was just another denial and I went about my daily life. Imagine my surprise tonight when I opened an email explaining that they were behind, but that my submissions had been accepted into their magazine and it is now available for purchase 😭 This is such a dream come true that I'm not even sure how to process it yet!! All I can say right now, is a huge thanks to all of you on this page. Those of you that have had sessions with me, passed my name along, or have just been here to enjoy the photos - Thank you SO, so much for your love and inspiration 💕

Sometimes photo shoots don't go AS planned, and that's perfectly alright ;) Every milestone kids hit brings on new experiences as well as challenges! It's very scary meeting someone for the first time, and then many people just expect some sort of photographer magic to get a perfect picture every time. It just doesn't work that way, but as a photographer what I have learned is that letting children be in THEIR element is so much more fun to capture behind the lens

Since our move from FL to TN, and expanding our company, I've kept my husband on the road traveling quite a lot these last 9 months. Neither one of us wanted him and our daughter to miss out on their annual tradition of attending a Daddy Daughter Dance, and I finally found one that took place today!!! We didn't have a lot of prep time, but I managed to snap some quick photos at home before they went out on their date =)
