February is Black History Month, an annual recognition of the history, achievements, and influence of the Black community. Musical Bingo Nation was born out of a passion for music. This month we would like to put a spotlight on some of the most iconic and influential musicians from the Black community whose work has impacted our lives and countless others.

Boeyonce’s albums have sold over 100 million copies worldwide, not including the sixty million she sold with Destiny's Child. She's won 28 Grammy Awards and is the most honoured singer, male or female, by the Grammys. She also has the honour of most nominations in Grammy Award history, currently at 79.

Beyoncé's ongoing commitment to uplifting and celebrating the Black community has become a key part of her legacy. This goes beyond her empowering songs—it's in her public statements and art, too.

Thinking that he didn’t have a chance to win Eminen did not attend the 2003 Oscars, leaving his friend and producer Luis Resto to accept the award in his place. Seventeen years later, Eminem would go on to delight fans at the 2020 Oscars with a surprise performance of “Lose Yourself”

This month we would like to put a spotlight on some of the most iconic and influential musicians from the Black community whose work has impacted our lives and countless others.

James Brown was an American singer, songwriter, arranger, and dancer, who is one of the most important and influential entertainers of the 20th century. Commonly known as the “Godfather of Soul” and the “Hardest Working Man in Showbusiness”, Brown’s career saw a staggering 100 singles and 50 albums reach the best-seller charts. James Brown’s influences are felt in so many genres of music including Funk, Soul, Reggae, Afrobeat, Hip Hop, and Rock & Roll.

Musical Bingo is a game using the same concept as traditional bingo. Letters & numbers are replaced with song titles & artists. Players compete to win based on their knowledge of music & the unpredictability of the game. Each game consists of different music rounds that feature: decades, genres, & themes.

How To Play:
🎶 Look over the songs on your card
🎶The host will announce when the music round is starting
🎶Your job is to listen to what songs are playing. If you see that
song on your card, cross off the square
🎶Fill out 5 in a row (vertical, horizontal, diagonal), and yell BINGO!!🎉

Barry Manilow launched his career with the number-one smash "Mandy". The iconic hit was originally called "Brandy" when it was recorded in 1972 by Scott English. To avoid confusion with another hit by the same name, Manilow changed the title to Mandy. For decades It was rumored that Scott English wrote the song about his dog, but this urban legend was debunked by English himself, who explained that a reporter called him early one morning asking who "Brandy" was, and an irritated English made up the "dog" story to get the reporter off his back.
