Unfortunately, the remainder of the Back the Gap Summer Series has been cancelled and future races will not be ran. **Please keep reading**

With the entire schedule not being completed, we will issue pro-rated refunds to those who purchased Season Passes.

**We will also still pay out for points. In the coming days we will post final standings for points. We are still dropping two races as we had planned to do. We will still host an awards ceremony, and that date will be posted soon as well.

***Most importantly, we want to make it clear that racing is NOT finished for the season at Volunteer Speedway. You will want to pay close attention to their page in the coming days about more details on future scheduled happenings at the track.

At the end of the day, the Back the Gap Summer Series was about keeping racing alive at Volunteer Speedway, and we like to think we helped accomplish that. Even if there were flaws and mistakes. Thank you for your support, and we hope you will continue to Back the Gap!

GATES: Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and grandstands at 5 p.m.

The Fan Appreciation Night event set for Friday, August 12th, has been moved to Friday, August 19 due to the Topless Outlaw/Steel Block Bandit event scheduled for Saturday, August 13th.

Race dates scheduled for Friday, July 29th (rain) and Friday, August 12th will be rescheduled. We have mentioned that all 10 races of the Back the Gap Summer Series will be ran, and they will. In addition, ALL Season Passes will be honored at those events, and any rumors spreading stating anything else are just that, rumors.

We will have rescheduled dates for these two events on Monday afternoon.

🚨🚨 In the interest of drivers, fans and everyone involved with Volunteer Speedway, we have *MOVED* (not cancelled) the scheduled Back the Gap Summer Series events scheduled for this Friday & Saturday, July 22 & 23. The new scheduled dates will be Friday, August 19th & Friday, September 30th.

With the price of everything rising, we feel that it’s in the best interest to move these dates so that we do not have 4 races over a short span. That’s a hard ask on drivers, teams and fans to not only pay ticket pricing, but travel cost. We want as many people to enjoy racing at The Gap and don’t want to run simply to say we ran.

🧐What is the 20/30/1000 Challenge? It is the joining of forces between racers and race fans to not only provide a STELLAR environment for racing, but a method for increasing total purse amounts and giveaways.

How it works:
(20)
If a class of cars has more than 20 competitors sign up to run on FRIDAY, that class will see an total purse increase of 20% on SATURDAY.

(30)
If a class of cars has more than 30 competitors sign up to run on FRIDAY, that class will an total purse increase of 30% on SATURDAY.

The Summer Series gets back on the dirt at Volunteer Speedway this Friday AND Saturday, July 1st & 2nd!

It’s Independence Day weekend and we intend to celebrate all weekend long, with racing on both Friday and Saturday night. Fireworks will follow racing action on Saturday night, July 2nd.

👏👏With all the rain we had Thursday night and yesterday afternoon, there is no way we should’ve gotten the Memorial Kickoff in the books.

But with the help of a great staff, and the unbelievable support of racers, teams and fans alike, last night was a success!

The notebook is full of things that need to be done better or more efficiently, and we’ll get there. Stick with us and we hope to see you again at our next events on Independence Day weekend, as we run Friday AND Saturday night, July 1st & 2nd!

🚨🚨Here is the points system breakdown for the Summer Series.🚨🚨

A couple of notes:

The winner's points for each race is equal to 1/10th of the winner's share of the points funds. For example: the 604 Late Models have a winner's share of $5,000 for the points fund winner; therefore, the winner's point total for each race is 500 points.

There is a 6 point difference between 1st and 2nd place. This gives a bonus for winning a feature event.

Places 2nd - 24th have a two (2) point difference between each position. This leaves a total of 50 points between the winner and 24th place.

Each position being worth two points encourages drivers in the back, middle and front to battle for finishing position, knowing that each position gained is important.

We are still working on putting together a graphic that lists the drivers competing in each class, but are waiting as long as possible to allow additional drivers time to register so that we do not have to update the graphic numerous times between now and tomorrow night.

📢 After our live video with updates aired, we had a few people message us with concerns about the parking situation we outlined. Their concern is that local racers come out to have a good time with their friends as much as coming out to race.

My intention with the Summer Series is to make it an enjoyable experience for everyone. After I received the few messages, I sought the opinion of a number of other people who I trust. Their opinion was the same. That while parking in order would provide organization, it has really just never been a problem at The Gap.

A main issue has been the additional personal vehicles pulling ATV/UTV trailers into the pit and parking everywhere, so those will still be required to park outside the pit gate. But the parking for competitors has just never been an issue.

🚨🚨So, after hearing those opinions of a few and seeking advice from a few others, I have decided to scratch the parking structure and allow competitors to park where they choose. I would suggest that you park near other cars in your class for organization purposes, but it isn’t required.

There are many areas that I will stand firm in our rulings throughout the Summer Series, but parking is not one of them. I don’t think you can build trust by being too proud or arrogant to listen to the opinions of others. So, while we won’t always change our decisions or opinions, we will when it makes most sense and is in the best interest of everyone.

The Summer Series is so close we can almost smell the racing fuel in the air! Join us this Friday night, May 27th for the Memorial Kickoff at Volunteer Speedway.

Five classes of racing action will take the high banks of Volunteer Speedway by storm, with 604 Late Models ($1,500-to-win), Sportsman Late Models ($1,000-to-win), Street Stocks ($700-to-win), Front Wheel Drive ($500-to-win), Classics ($500-to-win).

Pit admission is $30, with kids 10 & under FREE.
Grandstand admission is $15, with kids 10 & under FREE.

🚨If you purchased season passes, those will be available to pick up at the gate. You will need your name and ID to pick up. If you are giving those away to someone else, we will need the name(s) of those recipients for them to pick up.
