Inspiration for fall & winter palettes🍂🎨 ❄️

Coming up with a color palette for your wedding can be hard (especially if you’ve gone down the Pinterest rabbit hole). 🕳️ 🐇

But I’ve learned a trick or two from all the weddings I have under my belt—especially when it comes to creating a unique color palette.🧏🏻‍♀️

The key? Look in unexpected places for inspiration.🔑

If your goal is to have a unique color palette to ground your wedding design in, you can’t look in the same place as everyone else (doing that just puts the same ideas in your head). So where should you turn? Here are a few of my favorite places:👇🏼👇🏼

Destination wedding mistakes☝🏼🏞️📍

If I can teach you one thing about planning a destination wedding in Marbella, it’s this. Because I’ve heard (or seen) too many couples make this mistake.

Don’t choose vendors only based on price💰

So rather than making a decision based on price alone, I want you to [consider a few vendors / venues within your price range before picking one.‼️

If you really love a vendor/ venue and it’s a bit more expensive you can always consider cutting costs somewhere else. Cheaper-or pricey by the way- don’t mean better. So have yourselves some options to compare and listen to your heart when making the final decision! 💫💫

Because when you do, you’ll be bound to HAVE NO REGRETS LATER.

Planning a wedding in Marbella📆🌍💐
So, you want to get married in Marbella?

As someone who has helped a couple or two do just that 😉 I’ve got a few recommendations to help you start picking your date and venue.

Tip #1 Maybe you know that we have a micro climate in Marbella and we feel very lucky for that! We enjoy mostly sunny and warm days most of the year. It does rain though and that’s why it’s better to avoid the months when the chances of rain are higher and the weather can be a bit cooler such as January/ February/ March & November. If you don’t have a flexible schedule and need to celebrate your wedding in one of these months then make sure the venue you choose has a plan B in place in case of rain. ☔️

Summer months can be warm during the day but the temperature always falls during the evening and is very pleasant. 🫶🏼

The solution we have is to start with the event later in the day to take advantage of the above and also of the daylight hours since sunset will be at around 21:30 pm that time of the year. 🌅

Tip #2 You’ll be spoilt for choice since we have the mountains and the Mediterranean sea! So venue types are diverse such as seaside venues- which can be luxury hotels, trendy beach clubs or restaurants -, beautiful gardens, finca style venues and luxury villas with or without accommodation on site. 🌄

Tip #3 The biggest mistake I see couples make is not coming down for a venue tour of their select choices. Places have their own energy and can look very different in videos or pictures. So make an effort and come down for that venue tour to choose your venue personally! 🩷

Get inspired by your venue setting: Ideally your venue is a “blank canvas” that you can personalize with your vision. Most outdoor locations are. If you choose a venue that has already a lot of decorative details in place it’s better use these elements as influences for your color palette📋🎀

Look at your wardrobe & home decor for inspiration: The colors you love and surround yourself with already are likely to be favorites for a long time! Maybe all your life.🤩

Look at the color wheel to learn the basic principles to follow: Colors that go well together are either opposites or are next to each other in the wheel. The opposites go well because they pair cool and warm tones together and balance each other visually. Think yellow & purple or blue & orange. The “neighbors “are similar and share a primary color . Think lilac & blush A foolproof way to build your color palette would be pairing a very saturated color with a neutral color such as ivory, and add some softer, matching colors to the mix. 🥳🎁🩷
