Just a few of our looks from last month's Start of Summer Bacchanal event.

We had so much fun relaxing, eating, napping, walking around, and the other general shenanigans we get up to when we are together!

As always and Chef Simon make every trip beyond amazing!

After spending a relaxing and invigorating weekend at the always PERFECT I thought the first thing I would brag about is Simon's delectable meals. First and foremost Simon is incredible at working with food allergies, which is so important when a member of your party has one severe enough to need an epipen.

From Friday night's dinner, a mixed green salad with nuts, and fresh fruit, followed by tortellini pasta in a tomato sauce, then fresh out of the oven pizza, followed by this weekend's dessert Limoncello tiramisu!

Breakfast, the picture is from Saturday morning, was recreated today with a different style egg.

We enjoyed tea with fresh from the oven scones, homemade clotted cream, fresh berries, butter, jam, and tea.

Saturday night dinners are, well words can't describe how truly amazing they are. I chose a mussel in lemon sauce starter, followed by New Zealand lamp chops, and couldn't say no to a second round of that Limoncello tiramisu!

Less than 24 hours until this year's trip to the incomparable !

To say we are excited is an understatement, and if you are looking for a getaway about 2 hours from Dallas you simply must try Simon's accommodations and his world class meals.

I love how much texture and depth a great pattern can give to a garment, and how, when done right, it emphasizes the shape worn in each era!

Day 8 of was so here I am with several of my shenanigan sisters at our regional renaissance festival ( ) which is every April-May in Waxahachie, Texas.

We were a variety of fairies/fae folk on the Highland weekend so of course I had to wear hubby's family tartan.

Day 7 of was and one of my favorite parts of wearing historical and fantasy things while going to events is who I get to go with!

These ladies have been a part of so many of my shenanigans and I hope they stay on this journey with me for a long time!

I'm gonna try to keep up with (hosted by Prior Attire this year).

Day 1 is Introduction, so, I am Sarah and I was a theatre teacher turned stay at home mom who is back in the theatre classroom this year. I still make fantasy and historical garments (for myself and by commission) as well as setting up and hosting historical and fantasy events.

I have 3 littles and a fantastic husband who put up with me, and I enjoy the dull range of bounding to as accurate as my budget allows.

I am headed back into the classroom this fall, and wanted to update everyone on what that means.
Mostly, this is not the end of Stepping Through Time Events, however some events may have to take a gap year until I can find a better time of year for them as Spring is One Act Play season.

Well with what else would I be doing?
I was nice to myself this year though. Instead of doing a completely new build (it's coming this fall instead) I decided to look at my scraps to upgrade an existing kirtle.

I'm looking forward to our ladies trip to Scarborough Renaissance Festival on Saturday, and I'm elated that the temperature will be below 90°F while we are there!
I love the sun and summer, but it doesn't have to get here just yet.

A Scarborough Faire update just went out so be sure to check your emails, as the event date is fast approaching!
I'm also enjoying working on my new (to me) laptop upgrade! It should help me with being a little better with posts and emails now that I have a working screen again.

Most of the incredible women from our trip, dressed to the nines for our formal Victorian dinner.
The company sublime, the food heavenly, the atmosphere stunning!
I truly can not recommend enough, the hospitality and quality you find at Sabor a Pasion Estate & Vineyard. If you are looking for a get away into the piney woods of east Texas, I haven't found anywhere better!

Our weekend was a resounding success (or so I've been told)!
Just a few peeks at these wonderful women and the costumes we wore for our Free For All Friday dinner (4 courses courtesy of the incomparable Chef Simon of Sabor a Pasion Estate & Vineyard ), and the 1880s themed train ride in the private caboose aboard the beautiful train with the Texas State Railroad (where our host Randall was phenomenal entertaining us with past experiences, history, and because we are nosey plans about his future).
More pictures of the beautiful formal dinner are coming soon, including images of some of the delectable dishes offered if you dine with Chef Simon.

Just under 24 hours until the first group leaves for the Victorian Weekend I'm hosting in Palestine, TX this weekend.
I'm almost done with my new evening wear for our formal dinner Saturday night, and can't wait to eat under the Dogwood blossoms!
For your stay and dining needs in Palestine I can not recommend Sabor a Pasion Estate & Vineyard enough. I will be posting pictures after our weekend of the beautiful location and phenomenal food.
