My aim is to show the beauty, strength and enthusiasm of people. I love to shoot a story… it can be a commercial, family photography, or a street portrait. I watch it all around me, like a river flowing, waiting to see the reflection in it. In my work, the most important thing is to continue to see these moments, try to catch it and show my vision trough your projections.

From the moment I’ve started to share more of my photography experience and the profession in general I’ve been keep receiving more questions about photography, shootings, cameras, studio lighting, the way how to develop yourself in photography, and so on.

AND...based on all the requests, question and my community here (you, guys!)
I’ve decided to create my VERY FIRST PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE - “Trust your gut” 😄🫶🏻

The course will be focused on:

⁃ developing your own concept in photography industry
⁃ organizing the content photoshoot from A to Z
⁃ working with the model and lighting
⁃ seting all processes from the inspiration mood board to the ready project
⁃ pushing limits to be professional in this market

Offline, 3 weeks.
3 theoretical lessons and 2 master classes in my studio.
We will start on the 14th of May 2024.

Sometimes tiring but still exacting
Lately I found even more determination and confidence, what makes it so much different

Doing a lot of mistakes, but it’s a time when I can be a bit more soft to myself, finally

The circle is spinning, and we just trying to do best out of it. Probably this is the mood

For a long time I was denying my similarity with my own mother

Working these 3 days on SIGMA I’ve got a bit inspired to write something personal, probably tiredness works in that way

I think it’s time to write some appreciation post, as it seems that I only complain about my own childhood 😅🤖

I was thinking a lot where would I be without my crazy twisted family? Would I ever feel the way I feel now?
And every time I think.. no never!

Since I’ve started the course with , the inner feeling of shooting more esthetic weddings only growing 🙌🏼💕

Even tho in the beginning of my career I was considering weddings as something very basic.. but now I realized how amazing to be able to create your own world, every time a new love story.
Like a never ending movie about love with the happy end , perfect no? 🎥 🍿

It’s been a while, finally all things are sorted and we start to shoot in a proper space. I think my neighbors saw enough of naked people… Jokes aside, it was fun to shoot in my flat, but finally I’ll be able to bring work to another level 💕

A lot of things to fix and settle, but little by little 💫

I’ve noticed lately that a lot of people who follow me don’t know actually what I do exactly😅

So I’ve been thinking to share with you a bit more of my commercial projects as well, don’t know how to fit it in 1 feed yet tho

But let’s be honest, being a freelancer in Malta = doing almost everything 🤡👏

Weddings, events, restaurants, commercials, brands, content, studio works, private sessions, interiors.. uhhh I got almost dizzy 🥴

Jokes aside, for the long time I was pulling myself back from sharing more “commercials” as I was a bit afraid to lose the artistic touch in my feed and the way how I wanted to present myself - mysterious artist… honestly now it seems ridiculous to me 🥲😅
And partly because I was afraid to lose my followers and people who admire my work, who supported me so much. I was afraid you will think- she’s sold her soul to the devil and not creating anything “bombastic” anymore..

But at some point I was like, Olha you’re being artistic with any client and any kind of job (at least I try), so I was thinking it’s already something to start with, something what can connect all my photography and videography together.

Storytelling is a storytelling in the end of the day.

The most difficult part of doing self portraits- seeing all your own cellulites and bad lighting on the face 🎭

Jokes apart, finally managed to take some shots of myself
Just felt that this spring will bring even more blossoming and smiles

And I’m not talking about toxic positivity, no no no, I’m talking about facing life as it’s, with all ups and downs.
But any rollercoasters Will bring you to happiness at some point even just for few seconds, still worth it

It seems that having several days off per month it’s pretty healthy… funny part that only after 2 years of therapy I realized that I’m an anxious person and workaholic 🤡🫶🏼 I love what I do, but sometimes I can forget to stop and lost myself in the quantity of work and projects, I want to do everything in one second and as much as I can. It comes from ability value yourself only when you have “results” not just because me it’s me. Easy to say “relax”, but when you came from poverty and small village like me, the fear of ending up like someone very close to you always pushing you to go farther..

Oh well.. in the end the biggest part of our personality is a product or circumstances and experiences
First I was trying to “fix” myself, but after I realized that it’s how it’s, and all we need to do is try to handle the life as it’s
Not easy game, but probably it means being aware (even though this word now is a mainstream and a lot of people use it just because it’s a fashion)

Too deep for Monday morning feed, but I think 🤔 we strong enough to handle it

Light and outfit matter? After 4 years of working with different kind of people, settings and purposes I’m pretty sure that lighting and the set (outfit in this case) are the main “brick in the wall” I like to guide people and share knowledges with people who seeking for an advice. Usually I sent some examples of the outfits they can use, what kind of materials will work better with the lighting we gonna use and we the type of the figure the client has. First I clarify the purpose of any kind of photoshoot/video shoot, after I’m looking for available resources we gonna have, and from there we combine all together and try to work our best on the shooting day. This is the system I’m using after few years of trying different ways to communicate with the client.

People often asking me what exactly am I doing, so I decided the easiest way to explain is to film a video 📹🫶🏻 So now it’s easier to share if someone is looking for a photographer or videographer in Malta and Europe 🙏🏼📸 #malta #photographer #videographer #europe

What is the biggest problem when I shoot people who don’t used to be in front of the camera 📸 Everyone feel pressure, people think that I’m expecting super models. Guys relax, modeling is a profession and skills, so let us be a bit less critical to ourselves. Most of you think that you have to “pose”, but the truth is when people pose too much it looks super fake (on my taste) Yes the movements have to be still controlled, but we have to keep moving and developing the position. All of it I explain during the shoot. Each body is unique and we have to find positions which will suit to the person and the outfit/mood. To describe the character and figure in the most suitable ways. I use the word suit a lot as it helps to explain better - that each and every time we gonna use different positions, methods to find a key 🔑 for you. (Yes yes for each or you, even for the hardest nuts 🌰🤯) That’s why we have a mirror in the studio - so my clients can feel more secure and confident. (Creating the feeling of control 🤡🤏) And some music to not allow our scary thoughts scary us even more. Dear lord one day more people will go to the therapy.. but this is one day… Of course I’m joking a lot, as this is another way to melt hearts, break walls and gain trust on the shooting day. As it’s essential to be able to understand, feel and communicate the person in front of you for everyone who works with clients. We all deserve to look beautiful in front of the camera 🎥 It took me a while to explore the methods I can use to make feel comfortable, some tricks, jokes, moves. Every time is a new and different story. Probably the biggest satisfaction for me is when my clients happy with the results! I’ll be honest it’s not always works, there are some cases when I still looking for keys 🔑 to open people and to use the exact lighting, postures to make good results,but it’s never ending process like a real detective job. You have 1,5 hours to read, relax and shoot (not actually shoot 🔫) the person in front of you 📸 There’s always place to grow and develop, I love and hate it at the same time. But for now I start with myself, first teaching myself how to open up, how to use my body in front of the camera, how to be honest and still like what I see. Not easy process, but only one way to get to the point when you are not a perfectionist to your own appearance = you are not a perfectionist to others. #photography #psychology #selfportrait
