Having been the successful bidder among tight competition to plan, coordinate, execute and implement an idea into a successful event is no mean achievement.

Happy to share that WAT Events Planning company was the co-planner and implementer of the 2023 National Energy Conference (NEC) organized by the Renewable Energy Industries Association of Malawi (REIAMA) in collaboration with Ministry of Energy (MoE), under the theme "Energy Diversification for Sustainable Development", held in Salima – Sunbird Livingstonia Beach from the 26th to 27th October 2023. Our scope of work involved the following:
1. Resource mobilization; outsourcing sponsors and partners for the conference.
2. Identifying third party service providers to carry out different specialist tasks.
3. Coordinate the event.
4. Marketing and multiple stakeholder engagement for the event.
5. Final ex*****on of the event idea on the ground to closure.

With the help of our amazing team in collaboration with the REIAMA secretariat and organizing committee, we are proud to say the 2023 NEC conference was huge success and well executed.

Planning and coordinating an event involving both international and national delegates requires a whole lot of skill and technique. From handling flights itinerary, accommodation, dietary issues to make sure you represent your client and your country very well needs a top- notch angle to not- miss even one single detail.

Grateful to have planned and coordinated a conference on Galvanizing Malawian Civil Society around shift the Power event organised by Tilitonse Foundation in partnership with UKAid, Comic Relief and Global Fund for Community Foundations, held at Ufulu Gardens, Lilongwe, Malawi, from 22nd to 23rd March, 2023.

TIMING YOUR EVENTS IN FIVE STEPS!!

1. Planning your Concept and Program of Event.
a. It is of paramount importance to conceptualise your event idea, have a sketch layout of how you intend to achieve it, be it in pointers form, numerical layout or detailed format, have a planned concept and a list down of the event program outlining sequence. Remember, failing to plan is planning to fail.

2. Budgeting.
a. Every plan is executed and fully implemented with resources. Therefore, have a detailed breakdown of expenses that you intend to incur to achieve your goals on point 1 above. Take advantage of variety of suppliers, price comparisons and do as much saving as possible without watering down the desired objective.

3. Liaise with all Stakeholders.
a. Identify and approach stakeholders you know will help bring your concept to life. Make sure they add value and should they have charges, go for reasonability. Constantly, keep in touch with all involved parties and resolve conflicts decisively.

4. Prime and Block your Dates.
a. Stick to your chosen event date. Secure your dates in the following ways: contract signing, make payments and develop your tailor-made service level agreements built from supplier understanding of your concept and its ex*****on.

5. Build your hype!
a. When all is set and done, enjoy your moment and build up your morale and positive energy! Prepare for fun and lend a deaf ear to negative energy and discouragement.

Bonus Tip: Always have a Planner with you, it helps to relieve the stress. Wink Wink!!

No words can perfectly describe how grateful we are for everything. It's why we took so long to write.

From the bottom of our hearts we would like to thank you for all the work you did to make our wedding a success.

We first talked to you about the wedding date two months before the wedding, thinking you might decline. I am so glad you accepted the challenge that you perfectly executed from the very start. Coordinating with our families, church and the suppliers was a task we would not have done well on our own.
