📄 2024 Oceanside Superstars: Valenzuela Jr., Owusu Collide For UBO Title.
- And excellent fight for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Super Welterweight title is set for Friday, November 22, at the Oceanside Events Center in Revere, Massachusetts.
Billed as “2024 Oceanside Superstars”, Roberto Valenzuela Jr. (28-5, 26 KOs), from Sonora in Mexico, takes on Worcester´s Elsih Owusu (12-1, 7 KOs) in one of the featured bouts of a show promoted by Nolan Bros Boxing.
For 24-year-old Owusu it is a huge task against a very dangerous foe. While the American has only lost once, a WBC Youth world title fight to undefeated Oliver Meng in Denmark, he has never faced anyone with as much experience and punching-power as Valenzuela Jr.
Still only twenty-five, former WBC regional titlist Valenzuela Jr. has been around the block once or twice, and fought some excellent opponents.
His losses all came against world-class boxers, coming up short against Alexis Rocha, Derek Silveira, Suleymane Cissokho, Xander Zayas and current IBF world champion Bakhram Murtazaliev, whom he lost a decision to in 2022.
Valenzuela Jr. Has won his last three, all inside the distance, and Owusu has scored five straight victories since his sole defeat, three by stoppage, so both men will enter the fight full of confidence.
The fight-card is packed with intriguing match-ups, but especially this one promises fireworks and will almost certainly steal the show.
