Let’s face it, no bride wants to hear the phrase “rain on your wedding day means good luck!”. But then, there you have it. And, although it sure isn’t what Kaylee and Ryan had envisioned for their destination wedding, they made sure to embrace it, and even have fun with it! Now, Ironic by Alanis Morissette, has a whole new meaning ✨

In the end, isn’t that what it’s all about? Celebrating your love with your favorite people… which reminds us: massive shoutout to their amazing group of friends and family who stayed put throughout the whole ceremony in the pouring rain, you truly rock!

Not only it allows us to see your dynamic as a couple so that we can tell your story in the most honest way, but also, is a great way for you to start getting comfortable around us, around the camera, share a few laughs (or lots!) and start building a friendship… because yes, YOU BET we’ll become friends 🤎✨

If you followed our stories last weekend, you know how their wedding day went; overcast all day, with a heavy downpour through their whole ceremony. Yet, look at them. Kaylee and Ryan, we can’t even begin to describe how incredible you are. There wasn’t a single moment of the day where their hearts weren’t overflowing with love and gratitude. We even joked around the fact that their beach portraits were turning into a trash the dress session… we are simply in love with you two!

In the next days we’ll share some more shots from their destination wedding in Mexico, but this needed a completely separate post 🤍

Kaitlin and Sam met through friends of friends; they soon found out how seamlessly their lives fit together and how easy it was to love one another.

After only 6 months of dating, Sam proposed on the way to what Kaitlin thought was a birthday party for her mom. “We took a detour to go to a park that overlooks downtown Des Moines and the apartment building where we live. We took some photos to commemorate 6 official months of dating, but to my surprise, he got down on one knee!”

They always knew they wanted a destination wedding, and the Caribbean quickly stole their hearts. After picking the venue of their dreams, they asked the same friends who introduced them to be their officiants and it all just clicked!

Last weekend it was simply amazing, the energy around them was such that not even a bit of rain could spoil the happiest day of their lives!

We actually met Kaitlin at her best friend’s wedding back in 2021; she was one of the bridesmaids. For the life of me, we wouldn’t have ever imagined we would be taking her wedding portraits two years later! Specially since, at that time, she hadn’t even met Sam… aka her soulmate.

While they can't exactly pinpoint the date when they first met, we can tell you when Andy first knew he loved Nicole. During their junior year of college, Nicole had a sorority formal event and needed a date. Luckily a mutual friend who was going with Andy suggested that she go with Andy's roommate. Before the event, Andy was charged with picking her up from her apartment and that's when it happened (or at least according to Andy, it did). Down the stairs walks Nicole in her long red dress and it was love at first sight. And from then on, they were fast friends.

However, it wasn't until a year later that their friendship blossomed into something more. “While trying out a new bar in Tallahassee, the drinks were flowing all evening. Just the liquid forage we needed for, when a drunk girl taking our photo said “now, kiss!”… neither of us hesitated, and that was the spark that ignited our story!”.

After having dated for only six months, Nicole packed up and moved to Columbus, Ohio for graduate school and Andy moved to Tampa, Florida for his first job out of college. Over the next year and a half they traveled back and forth to visit each other, then comes 2020 and in the throes of COVID lockdowns and disruptions, Nicole, having just returned from a visit with Andy, impulsively booked a one-way ticket back to Tampa the next day! They’ve been inseparable ever since.

For the proposal, Andy planned a weekend trip to steamboat springs for the two of them. “Little did she know that I had already picked out her engagement ring and it was in my pocket the whole trip. On the first morning, I was super excited and nervous to take her to this beautiful waterfall overlook. I had planned a speech and everything. When we got to the spot my heart was pounding and the speech I had planned was mush on my brain. I remember holding Nicole’s hands and the only words I could get out were "I love you" before tearing up and getting down on my knee to ask Nicole to marry me and shocker, she said yes!”.

Amber carried her mom by having this beautiful handkerchief sewn into her wedding dress; a keepsake that was actually embroidered by her mother. It was a touching piece she will treasure, always.

Jordan and Noah met in college at South Dakota State University; some mutual friends who felt they would be the perfect match set them up together and they were clearly not wrong! Ever since their first date they both fell in love with one another and connected in so many ways, especially traveling. Boy do they love to travel!

On one of those travel adventures, while in Turks and Caicos with Jordan’s family, Noah decided it was the perfect timing for popping the big question. - "We were getting ready to pack up and leave to fly back to the states when Noah kept asking me to take a walk on the beach. My brother and his girlfriend also came with us for one last walk. As we were walking, Noah had me come look at a seashell in the water. That shell had a ring inside and he asked me to marry him! My brother, his girlfriend, and both my parents were right behind me!" Since they are both very family oriented, it was important for them to share this moment with their special ones.

Last weekend they had the absolute time of their lives celebrating at with that gorgeous tropical background that only the Caribbean can give you ✨️ This will be their most memorable travel adventure for sure!

This 70's inspired celebration at Hotel Xcaret México is fire!

Michelle and Chris were married by the sea, followed by a very unique dinner reception on a cave. Being a designer, it was important for Michelle that every aspect reflected their personality; everything from their unique outfits, to the sculptures she and her daughter worked on specifically for this day were right on point. The cherry on top? Recreating the "dirty dancing" performance as their first dance!

These two fit just right in, their vibe is simply magical!

These two right here are the definition of magic! 😍 You'll meet them, you'll love them... you'll want to party with them!

Betty and Dave met a few moons ago at a night club on Memorial Day weekend back in 2015 and they just never let go. One amazing thing about them is how they are both constantly pushing each other to try new things; while Betty encourages David to dance, he encourages her to work out. They are even more empowered together!

Well, those dancing lessons were surely worth it, based on that amazing first dance -which felt more like a pro performance!

Winnie and Paul met through a mutual friend during the first week of freshmen year in college. They were acquaintances freshmen and sophomore year, however, in junior year of college, they both studied abroad in London, which brought them much closer.

The years went by between date nights and skiing trips. One day though, Paul waited her to come home from work and then ask the big question the minute she opened the door! “I was still wearing my scrubs (I’m a nurse). He had candles and rose petals laid out on the floor. We dated 10 years before he proposed. He thanked me for waiting a decade for him”.

They chose Cabo San Lucas as the perfect place to celebrate their wedding and found Sandos Finisterra Los Cabos, a gorgeous venue that matches the earthy and ethereal vision they had in mind. With a beautiful ceremony overlooking the marina at the Plaza Finisterra, followed by a stunning reception at the Rooftop that included an unexpected firework display, it was everything they could have dreamed of and more.
