Live Streaming Weddings in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Do your clients want to live stream their weddings?

Live video streaming is a great way for couples to share their wedding ceremony with family and friends who could not attend their destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta.

Live streaming gives online viewers a chance to celebrate with the couple, and congratulate them from afar, in real time.

Have you considered offering live streaming services to your clients? I am a trained live video streaming technician (since 2013!), and I can create the live streaming for you. Read on to learn about how it works, and take a peek inside my most recent live stream!

The process for live streaming a wedding:

1. Test
2. Setup
3. Go Live
4. Replay & Download

Testing:
Live streaming will only work if there is a strong internet connection. I test the location of the ceremony before the wedding to find out if live streaming is possible. It is possible to live stream a beach wedding, as long as there is a hotel or a restaurant with wifi nearby, or if cellular data connection is strong. I do a speed test to test the internet on-location.

Setup:
I use a professional camera, microphone, computer, software, and a special website to accomplish live streaming.

I create a custom webpage for the couple before the wedding. The couple can share the link with their family & friends before the wedding. I can also invite viewers by email. Invited viewers will receive a series of automated email notifications until the live streaming starts.

I can add photos, videos, text, documents, or links to the landing page.

Going Live:
I start the live stream a few minutes before the wedding ceremony. I stream for the duration of the wedding ceremony. I stop the stream after the ceremony, as the cocktail hour begins. This is what most couples want, but if they want additional time live streaming, I can do it.

Viewers can make comments during the live stream by “signing the guestbook” on the page. They do not need to create an account to leave comments. They can also upload photos in the Guestbook section.

Replay & Download the recording:
The custom live streaming webpage and the live stream video will be saved for 1 year. You can replay and download the video during that 1 year period. Guestbook comments are also saved on the page for 1 year.

Live Streaming: Tips for Wedding Planners

1. Understand the technology.
There are lots of different ways to do live streaming, from a cell phone, to a professional setup. Wedding planners should understand the technology that will be used, in order to manage the expectations of your clients. Talk with your live streaming technician to understand in detail what tools they will use to accomplish the broadcast, so you can let your clients know what to expect.

2. Plan ahead.
Think about where the live streaming camera(s) and microphone(s) should be placed. Share details about the ceremony with the live streaming technician, so they know where to place cameras and microphones, in order to capture everything. Remember that musicians or people speaking must have microphones in order to be heard on the live stream. Share the backup plan in case of rain.

3. A note about copyrighted music:
Both Facebook and YouTube will mute live streams that include copyrighted music. If the couple is going to walk down the aisle to a popular song, or play copyrighted music during the ceremony, it’s important to choose a streaming platform that will not mute the live stream in the case of copyrighted music.

4. Get your clients excited!
Live streaming allows them to share their wedding day with anyone and everyone! If they plan ahead, they can be really creative! I’ve had couples who’ve had a behind-the-scenes narrator talking to the live stream audience, and couples who’ve addressed the live stream audience directly during or after the ceremony. It makes the audience feel special!

MEET THE TEAM! Hi, I'm Corie DuChateau. I'm the lead videographer here at Vallarta Wedding Films. I'm originally from Phoenix, Arizona. I started studying photography in high school, and I fell in love with cameras and what they can do. I decided to continue my study of cameras and their capabilities by studying Cinematography in college. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film and Television production with emphasis in Cinematography from University of Colorado. I worked in television production for 8 years in Denver, Colorado. I worked on numerous series for HGTV, Food Network, Discovery Channel, TLC, DIY Network, The Weather Channel, and the National Parks Service. Between 2012 and 2016, I worked on emerging video technology projects in Silicon Valley. I was one of the first to personally film, produce and direct live streaming broadcasts for television and radio stations, educational conferences, weddings, and events. My team and I published a live video streaming app to the app stores before Facebook Live even existed! I have a deep knowledge of how live video streaming works, and I offer live streaming services for weddings. In 2017 I produced a short film in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico entitled "Banality of Evil", which was accepted into seven international film festivals. Last year I produced a documentary film in Puerto Vallarta called, "The Pencil and the Thread" about a married couple who have producing artworks together for over 50 years. I take your wedding day very seriously, and I strive to create the most beautiful, cinematic, and emotional wedding film possible. I am now booking the 2023/2024 wedding season in Puerto Vallarta.
