The blessing of candles on February 2 is a significant tradition in our Church. It takes place during the Feast of Candlemas.

Candlemas commemorates the presentation of Jesus at the Temple, as described in St. Luke 2:22–40 and the prophetic words of Simeon, who called Jesus the "Light for revelation to the Gentiles." Because of this, the Church traditionally blesses candles on this day, symbolizing Christ as the Light of the World. These blessed candles are often used in processions, liturgical celebrations, and personal prayer throughout the year.

Las velas bendecidas tienen el poder de disipar la oscuridad y alejar todo mal. La bendición de las velas se celebra cada 2 de febrero durante la festividad de la Candelaria, un día en el que la Iglesia consagra las velas que se utilizarán a lo largo del año en oraciones y actos de fe. Las familias pueden llevar sus propias velas a la iglesia para que sean bendecidas y luego usarlas en sus hogares como símbolo de protección, luz y la presencia de Cristo, la verdadera luz del mundo.

La luz disipa las tinieblas: Un beneficio espiritual de las velas bendecidas es su capacidad para expulsar todo lo malo. La bendición de las velas se realiza en la festividad de la Candelaria el 2 de febrero de cada año . Este es el día en que la Iglesia bendice las velas para su uso durante todo el año. Las familias pueden traer sus velas a la iglesia para ser bendecidas en este día y usarlas en sus propios hogares.

Waiting on the Lord indeed demands patience and trust in God’s Word. It's often in those quiet moments of waiting that we learn to rely more deeply on His timing, even when it's hard to understand the reasons for the delay. That act of trusting, even in uncertainty, strengthens our faith and deepens our relationship with Him.

God's Word is full of promises about His goodness. Psalm 34:8 Taste and see that the Lord is good. And Romans 8:28 We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him.
