Being blessed with the gift of artistic senses, Kenn had developed a deep interest in arts and creativity ever since he was a young child. Even so, his previous career was no where near to photography and it was not until 2010 when he stumbled across many wedding photographs while researching for his own wedding day arrangements. He was amazed by how wedding moments are both created and captured, and it was then his interest and passion for wedding photography grew. Being an artistic person that he is, kenn was keen on infusing his gifted skills into his works but it was not well accepted and he his works were badly bashed by many when he first started. But he never gave up his passion and held onto his dream of becoming an award winning wedding photographer; and just barely a year into his photography career, kenn’s unique vision and his relentless effort had proven worthwhile. He was crowned one of asia’s top 30 wedding photographer and also won numerous prestigious awards and accolades from the wppi (wedding & portrait photographers international). All of his awards and recognitions were achieved just within 3 years of him being in the industry; a success that most can only achieve in 10 years of their career. Although winning awards and recognitions bring personal satisfaction to his career, nothing can inspire him more than capturing unforgettable and precious moments for his couples. Kenn sets it as a personal goal to create unique photographs in each of his assignment and strives his best to provide the best experience for his couples. To him, it’s not only about the beauty of the photographs, but it’s the overall experience that matters.

β€œMy dad had never done this before.”

As a father myself, these words from my bride hit me hard.

As a wedding photographer, I strongly believe that my job isn't just to capture moments on my clients' wedding day. I feel it's also part of my responsibility to somehow pull at the strings that connect my clients with the people they love β€” to create moments where those bonds naturally come through, even if only for a brief moment, and for me to freeze that moment in time.

At Casey's wedding, I noticed the unusually strong bond between her family members. And not to mention, they were all such genuinely lovely people!

I knew I had to create a moment where Casey and her loved ones could just have a little fun together.

So I started by slowly inviting her parents in, one at a time β€” just to loosen things up and get them comfortable with my little bit of β€œguidance”.

We started with Casey and Mum. Then Dad joined in, followed by her brother.

I've always found that when the whole family comes together, the combined energy brings out the most genuine expressions.

And that's when I pulled the trigger.

I asked Mum to kiss Casey on the cheek.

Then, when Mum was done, I said:

β€œOkay, now Dad, kiss her on the cheeks!”

He did.

And immediately after that, Casey looked at me with a surprised expression and said those words:

β€œMy dad had never done this before.”

As a father myself, I believe those words carry a weight that only a parent can truly understand.

And in that tiny little moment, I knew I had captured something far more meaningful than just a photograph.
