It’s always a fun time when toddlers and babies are part of a family photo session! 😍 Thanks Irwinder for choosing us and we’re so glad we got to help you immortalize these precious moments! ✨

Here’s what Irwinder thinks about the session: This was our first ever attempt at a family portrait with a group of 9 adults, 1 toddler and 1 baby. We were very privileged to have Stephen photograph us! Most of us aren’t used to being in front of a camera but he made all of us feel at ease and was able to navigate through the chaos of handling a big group. My kids were a bit cranky and uncooperative during the shoot but Stephen made the effort to try to engage them and when the pics were ready i was so so shocked at the outcome! The pics were beautiful and was beyond what I expected. These pictures will be so precious to us over the years! Thanks again Stephen & Stories for helping us immortalize these moments! 😊

We recently photographed Razan’s beautiful family at Langkawi! They came all the way from Saudi Arabia, and decided to fly us into Langkawi for their family session. It was a great session & everyone had so much fun at the beach 😍

We are looking for a team player to join our creative family! 🤩 Our studio is based on Oval Damansara, TTDI. We have hybrid work arrangements for all staff.

Here’s the role that you will play:
👉 Utilise Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom to edit photos, meeting our creative standards and specific needs.
👉 Create photo slideshows, or album layouts as and when necessary.
👉 Assist the team with any production shoots when an extra pair of hands are needed.

What we are looking for:
💯 Above editing skills, we look for a person who has team spirit, is detailed, adaptable, and teachable.
💯 Excellent communication skills.
💯 Dedicated and able to work independently.

You might be sold on the idea of a family portrait session, but what if your spouse has a less enthusiastic response? We asked our founder and senior photographer, Grace’s husband, Alex, what he thinks about this topic. Here are his suggestions on how to get the ‘buy-in’ for a family portrait session.

1. Start by having an open and honest conversation with your husband about why you would like him to take a photo. Explain your reasons and let him know how important this is to you. Talk about capturing memories, preserving moments, and creating a visual history that you both can look back on in the future.

2. Give him ample notice and help manage expectations by explaining how long the session will be. Perhaps you could minimise idle time by ensuring that he doesn’t need to wait around while you have a one-hour makeup session!

3. Plant seeds where the images could go around the house. Create excitement when you talk about putting up images on a currently empty wall in your home.

4. For people who do not like posing for photos, you could communicate with your photographer to take more ‘day-in-the-life’ images, where life unfolds naturally as you have a meal together or play a game of football in the backyard.

5. Speak to your photographer or make a request if he could get a simple professional headshot done during the family session, so he gets something extra as a bonus!

Finally, if your spouse is still not into doing a photo shoot anytime soon, why not invite him to a mini photo session instead, at our Father's Day event this 15th June? Are you looking for something fun to do this Father's Day? We want to encourage families to disconnect from their busy lives, and reconnect with each other by spending time outdoors. We've curated a special experience for families, happening this 15th of June (Saturday) from 8.30am - 12pm at Parc, Subang.

Families will have their family photographs shot by the Stories team, participate in a drum circle with R.A.M Music Network, and reflect on the strength of their family bonds with Kelvin and Luisa from Heroes Headquarters. We'll even provide a light breakfast for you so that you can enjoy a relaxing picnic by the park, as families take turns to have their photos taken. This event is made possible by our venue partner, Parc with support from Yayasan Sime Darby.

This event is especially curated for families with children above the age of 3. The participation fee is RM250 per family (admits 2 adults and 2 children). Additional children will be charged at RM50 per head.

Meet the newest member of the Stories crew, Mai!

This is her story.

“Growing up, one of the ways to express myself was through art, and digital art quickly became a favourite form of expression. From digital paintings to trippy surreal pieces, each stroke has a story behind it. I love blasting my favourite tunes while in my creative zone, where I experience a variety of emotions, adding that extra spark to every piece.

Formerly a designer, I picked up a ton of skills that I'm now putting to good use as a photo editor here in Stories. Whether it's enhancing colours, or adding that perfect filter to evoke emotions and bringing images to life.

Outside 9 to 5, I’m a catmom to one chonky tabby and I am simply content in the simple things in life like food, music, and of course, cat memes.”
