A little while back, I rewatched the 1998 rendition of The Parent Trap with my 5yr old. Couldn’t help but notice the flowers in the very brief (so brief you’d miss it if you blinked) scenes from the Queen E and dinner on yacht. And also the bridal dress photoshoot. I’m not always a fan of compact white flowers, but there was something really tasteful about them. Thought about them alot. So the next bride that came along got my rendition of Parent Trap flowers. Also, after the movie, my 5yr old asked: Mummy, so when are we getting a butler?

Can you control how flowers want to grow and bend? Exactly. Neither can I replicate the same piece twice. Flowers do what flowers wanna do. All their weird and wonky curves are a gift for that day.

This bouquet was built the evening before the wedding, with the irises intentionally in bud form. Swipe to see how she looked on show day when the buds had burst into full glory.
Whenever possible, I usually like to send my flowers out a little under bloomed. They may not look their fullest at that point, and may sometimes take a day or two more to bloom fully, but that means the recipient gets to keep their flowers for longer. You have to remember that if your flower comes fully bloomed, that means they are already at their peak, and it’s only downhill from there. In general, I’d say the lifespan of fresh cut flowers (outside the chiller) is 5-7 days in our local climate. Assuming the flowers are a fresh batch that haven’t been sitting in the chiller for a week or two before.

When clients ask for a white and green bouquet, I might ask if I can add some undertones of colour so the whites don’t look too flat. I’m just asking to be polite 😛. Thankfully, they’ve always said “yes”… so far.

Taking a moment to appreciate this bridal bouquet. Built and photographed at some ungodly hour (hence, the ‘cinematic’ lighting) to head out for an early morning ceremony. Can’t wait for official pics. Yes… must get studio lighting. Maybe soon. For now, got bigger fish to fry.

Things are spinning at a mercurial pace right now. Sorry if you haven’t heard back from me, or worse..if you’ve been blue-ticked for days! 😂 You have permission to text me a gazillion times. I will get there… eventually. I also can’t invoice anybody right now. Ain’t nobody got time for that. If I said yes to your project, I’m on it. You may text me if you’re afraid I’ve forgotten (whatsapp.. don’t DM). But you can’t chase me to invoice you. I will chase you…. when I need your money 😉. Sick bub, homeschooling bub, peak month.. behind a photo of pretty flowers is a momma trying to keep the whole show running. Even with the best support system, the days go at the speed of light. They then proceed to the crafting station where a wonderful selection of markers and colouring materials await them. After designing their blooms, little ones choose their favourite wrap and our crafting team will assist in bunching the bouquet. For this project, we hand painted and hand detailed bamboo poles and dozens of dried palm leaves of different sizes. These were installed along with other dried and preserved flora material to create the colour pop palette that the client had identified for their Raya open house setup back in March.

Saturday made a little brighter when @josephinekoh85 showed me that her wedding photos were featured in weddingsmalaysia.com.
