🎻 Carlo Antonio Testore – Milan’s Master of Sound

Carlo Antonio Testore (1693–1765) carried on his family’s legacy in Milan under the “Sign of the Eagle.” Known for his bold craftsmanship, his violins from the 1740s may look unrefined, but their powerful, resonant tone speaks volumes. His instruments remain treasured by musicians and collectors who seek character and history in every note.

🎻 **J.F. Lott II – The English Master of Guarneri Copies** 🎻

John Frederick Lott II (1804–1870) was one of England’s finest violin makers, known for his exceptional copies of Guarneri del Gesù violins. His craftsmanship captures the rich tonal quality and intricate antique look that make his violins almost indistinguishable from originals.

With his adventurous spirit (including a stint as an elephant trainer!), Lott brought artistry and life into every instrument. Today, his violins remain highly sought after by musicians and collectors who appreciate the true legacy of English violin making. ✨

Spotlight on French Cello Bow Maker Joseph Arthur Vigneron (Père)

Joseph Arthur Vigneron, known as Vigneron père, was one of the most distinguished French bow makers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Born in Mirecourt in 1851, Vigneron trained under Claude Nicolas Husson and honed his craft in Paris with Gand & Bernardel before establishing his own workshop in 1888. His bows, known for their exceptional playing qualities and craftsmanship, reflect the influences of Charles Nicolas Bazin, François Nicolas Voirin, and the legendary Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume.

The legacy continued with Jean Dominique’s son, Jean “Grand” Adam (1823–1869). After training under his father and working with the illustrious J.B. Vuillaume in Paris, Jean “Grand” Adam returned to Mirecourt to start his own workshop. His bows are known for their exceptional craftsmanship and remain highly prized by musicians today.

Million thanks to everyone! We truly appreciate the support for our recent event, and a special thanks to The Starhill KL and Lot 10 Kuala Lumpur for allowing us to participate in “THE ART” a platform supporting young artists.

The antique violins we showcased highlighted the long history of the instrument, aiming to inspire young musicians to explore how violins can become part of Malaysia’s culture and music.

As a gallery, we will continue to present unique violins and host various sharing sessions. These events offer the opportunity to learn more about violin craftsmanship, sound, and tradition, which we are deeply passionate about.

At this event, kw_galeri presented some of the most valuable and best-sounding violins in Malaysia. We are incredibly grateful for the strong turnout and support, which encourages us to keep moving forward.

In the future, we hope to share our instruments and music with an even wider audience.

Once again, thank you to everyone who supported us. We look forward to creating more beautiful moments like this.
