The 1st phase of Registrations are open now

The Namib FireFighter Challenge is the first and only of it's kind that will be hosted in Namibia.

It's a 5 stage physical challenge event that firefighters throughout Namibia and Internationally can participate in and try to complete with the fastest time.
Competition events include a stair climb with a high-rise pack, hose hoist, forcible entry, hose advance, and a victim rescue.

Individual competitors or Teams must complete a total of five events consecutively.

Competitors must wear a helmet, coat, pants with liners, boots, gloves, and a breathing apparatus—an SCBA—during the entire duration of competition.
The Challenge is timed from the start of the first event to the end of the fifth event.

This competition also holds special significance because the top performing fire fighters will be chosen to represent Namibia at the next World Toughest Firefighter Alive championship to be held at the WFG in Denmark 2024.


Registration details

1. Participants need to produce their original ID or driver’s license to verify their age when they register.
2. Must be a qualified Firefighter
2. Whilst every effort will be made to ensure the safety of competitors, the event is purely voluntary and therefore all participants will have to sign a waiver of liability form, indemnifying the Namib Firefighter Challenge and partners against any adverse events that might occur as a result of their participation.
3. All those wishing to compete in the event must complete a signed indemnity form on registration before or on the day of competition.
4. The entry fee will be as follows:
Individual: N$650 and Team: N$1250
Entry Include
- T-Shirt and Cap
- Goodies/Promo Bag
- Participation Medal
- 1 tickets for Individuals to the Gala Dinner and 3 tickets

Summary
To partake in the competition the following is required:
1. Completed registration forms
2. Indemnity forms
3. Copy of ID
4. Proof of payment of Registration fee
5. Team registration forms available
(When registering a team each member must fill out and Indemnity form and provide copy of ID)
6. Passport photo's
7. Attach copies of firefighting qualification
8. Must have own PPE or can rent

Namib Firefighter Challenge - THE FIRST AND BIGGEST CHALLENGE IN NAMIBIA

The Namib FireFighter Challenge is the first and only of it's kind that will be hosted in Namibia.

It's a 5 stage physical challenge event that firefighters throughout Namibia and Internationally can participate in and try to complete with the fastest time.
Competition events include a stair climb with a high-rise pack, hose hoist, forcible entry, hose advance, and a victim rescue.

The primary purpose for the Namib Firefighter Challenge is to promote physical fitness an essential part of structural firefighting.

Individual competitors or Teams must complete a total of five events consecutively.

Competitors must wear a helmet, coat, pants with liners, boots, gloves, and a breathing apparatus—an SCBA—during the entire duration of competition.
The Challenge is timed from the start of the first event to the end of the fifth event.

Registrations will open on 2 October 2023 for the first edition of the "Namib Firefighter Challenges", which will be held at Hage Geingob Stadium in Windhoek on 4 to 5 May 2024.

Thus far the challenge drew a huge number of interest on our social media page.

ABOUT Naming Firefighter Challenge

The NFC is based on the international Firefighter Challenge, the blue riband event of the World Firefighter Games (WFG). The WFG started in Auckland, New Zealand 1990 and is held in a different country every two years with the winner of the TFA Competition at the WFG being crowned the World’s Toughest Firefighter Alive, a very prestigious award.

Individuals and corporates are encouraged to support this event aimed at enhancing service delivery through fitter, stronger fire fighters, build community relations, motivate fire fighters and restore local and national pride in the fire services.
N$20 of each registration goes to charity
