Last night I won my first CMA Country Music Association award and I’m still lost for words. Thank you Tyler Hubbard for surprising me on the red carpet and presenting it to me! Looking forward to sharing more about this night in the next few days with you as I continue to process it. KB ♥️

Richard Cook is a member of the Forestland Variety Music club in Tokoroa and secured his place as a finalist in the 2023 Entertainer of the Year by winning the Matamata Country Music Awards.
Richard stopped singing for about 20 years because he says "I couldn't hold a note to save myself" and went to dairy farming and is currently managing a dairy farm in Lichfield.
Richard says "a near death experience changed everything for me and God became a part of my life. God gave me my voice again." After cancer, a triple by-pass, a hip replacement, a broken marriage he says "God helped me through all that."
Gaynor Ngapo was very instrumental in encouraging Richard to return to the awards and was able to win the Overall title at Te Puke awards and sections at the Gisborne Awards.
Richard is aspiring to release a gospel single / album just to help him realise that he actually does have a voice again.

Keith Pereira Music - NZ is a finalist with 2 songs 👏 “Goosebumps” & “Help Me Remember”.

I'm a country singer / singer songwriter based in Auckland with a passion for writing all sorts of songs. I've been greatly influenced by the 90s country sounds specifically my idols, Alan Jackson, Vince Gill and the Eagles.

I've performed all over NZ and I've finally got my debut single coming out in the next month or so. I've written with a lot of songwriters and have a heap of unreleased song so I thought I'd enter in this competition to keep this awesome songwriting momentum going.
