Meat pie.

Ingredients:
For the pastry:

4 cups (500g) all-purpose flour
200g margarine
2 Eggs
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/4 cup (60ml) cold water

For the filling:
•3/4 pound (350g) Ground beef
1 Potato, peeled and diced into small cubes
1 Large Onion, chopped
3 Large Carrot, peeled and diced
1 cup (240ml) Water/beef broth
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
1 teaspoon Thyme
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons Oil
1 egg for brushing

How to prepare:

-Make the pastry: in a large bowl mix together flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
-Add margarine and rub it with the flour until you get a crumbly texture.
-Beat 2 eggs with cold water and add it to the flour mixture, mix until dough is formed. Cover for 30mins.
-Make the filling: in a large pan heat oil. Add onion and sauté for 5-6 mins.
-Add the potatoes and diced carrots and cook for 5- 8 mins.
-Add the meat, breaking it apart, for 4-5 mins; Season with salt, pepper, thyme and flour.
-Divide the dough into 4 pieces. Roll out the dough into 1/8-inch thickness. Cut out a round shape with your desired sized.
-8. Place about 1-2 tablespoons of the meat mixture in the center and fold over the dough. Seal it with your fingers or with a fork. Poke the pies with a fork to create a steam outlet while baking brush the pies with beaten egg.
-Bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden. Cool slightly before serving.

SIMPLE RECIPE FOR CHIN CHIN

INGREDIENTS:
- 500g all-purpose flour
- 100g granulated sugar
- 100g butter, room temperature
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1tablespoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- Vegetable oil, for frying

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and nutmeg (if using). Mix well.

2. Add the room temperature butter to the dry ingredients and rub it in with your fingers until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs lightly, then add the milk and mix together.

4. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the egg and milk mixture.

5. Mix everything together to form a stiff dough. You may need to add a little more flour if the dough is too sticky.

6. On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness.

7. Use a knife or pastry cutter to cut the dough into small squares or desired shapes.

8. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (180°C).

9. Carefully add the chin chin pieces to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pot.

10. Fry the chin chin until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure even cooking.

11. Remove the fried chin chin from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

12. Allow the chin chin to cool completely before packaging or serving. Enjoy your yummy chin chin 🥰😋🤗

Well garnished meat pie.

Ingredients:
For the pastry:

1 teaspoon baking powder

5 Potato(medium), peeled and diced into small cubes
1 Large Onion, chopped
2 Large Carrot, peeled and diced
Salt to taste
2 cubes of maggi
Pepper to taste
1 teaspoon Thyme
2 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons Oil
1 egg for brushing

How to prepare:

-Make the pastry: in a large bowl mix together flour,pinch of salt( if you are using butter) and baking powder.
-Add cubed butter/magrine and rub it with the flour until you get a crumbly texture.
-add water(1cup/1/4) and add it to your flour mix until dough is formed. Cover for 10mins.
-Make the filling: in a large pan heat oil. Add onion and sauté for 5-6 mins.
-Add diced carrots and cook for 3-4 mins.
-Add the meat, breaking it apart, for 4-5 mins; Season with salt,maggi, pepper, thyme and flour.
