When you visit the house of some rich people. The wife will be in the kitchen relatively busy while you are sitting in the parlour watching CNN. From the parlour, you will be hearing sound of tomatoe blender, glass plates, boiling pot and the aroma of fried things. Shortly after, the woman will now come out to the parlour and serve you Chinchin and groundnut. While you are eating it with mixed feelings, she will ask you the following questions. How is your mum doing? Is that your brother still in Port Harcourt? And then after she calls the driver and tell him to drop her beloved brother at the park. Our celebrant who made his scores at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka Anambra State where he clutched glories has always left on his trail, trademarks of honour in his endeavours. He has to his credit, some collections in epic history, starring African and European relish; published and unpublished scripts in theatre Arts and some archaeological chronicles dealing with artifacts.

Our celebrant has a prestigious record in genealogy. He is the son of Engr VALENTINE IBEZIM NWACHUKWU and the grandson of Engr JOHN NWACHUKWU ELIKEE, the first republic senator of the area who dwelt in the foremost Uloelu-Nwaobasi that is making news today for Investigative journalism. The cradle of these late icons in the Mbutu Mbaise ancient kingdom in Nigeria's South East would best be understood with the prism of the Adeyinka's of Western Nigeria.

Our Bishop (without a Cathedral) is happily married to his jewel, KACHI the fine wine from NGURU MBAISE, and their union was knitted in a nuptial ceremony at the Cathedral of Maria Assumpta in Owerri Imo State. Our celebrant will always be praised for his sense of humour, humility, cheerfulness, charity and accommodating lifestyle. For those who know his cradle much, these positive traits do not come as suprise. He inherited them. On a lighter mood, he was a BUHARIST.

IMO: STATE WITHOUT LGA

Despite the formation of state government, the localization of government is considered a unique phenomenon in Nigeria. Local authorities have not lost their significance as they bring government close to the people. Through by-laws, council chairmen make effective decrees to enhance rural development. As enshrined in the 1999 Constitution, the LGs have various tasks which touch the people directly. These will include transport licenses, market order, social amenities, service roads, waste removal, environmental sanitation and checks and humanitarian activities. When we were young, LGs were also monitoring the activities of small organizations and businesses like restaurants, shops, bakeries, kiosks, and other places where food and beverages are sold, perhaps that was the origin of white cotton in bars which later became a signal of Food is Ready for skilled workers and artisans. They ensured the proper functioning of the educational system, sports and inter school competition of pupils and students, the agricultural revolution and natural sphere. In this way and through the office of elected Councillors in various village wards, it was not be difficult for government to get to the people's doorsteps.

The case of Imo state has been different from other states in Nigeria. Imo is the only state without LG Council since the last ten years. The much we get from the bushy LGA secretariats are now certificates of birth and LG of origin formerly issued free. What has happened to this third arm of government in Imo? Successive governments from IKEDI OHAKIM down to HOPE UZODIMMA have commingled the 27 LGAs in Imo to the point that it has become a herculean task for them to hold elections since ten years. They keep the situation flowing for them even after election promises with the excuse of trying to settle down and organize for LGAs. They also ensure this through the unreasonable court litigation starring various parties in Imo.The governors end up constituting toothless appointees who oversee the manual typewriters in those offices. Million allocations for these LGAs are commandeered by the governors at their behest. And this has accounted for their thirst to squander Imo billions without qualms. For instance, a former Imo governor bought a Range Rover for Abuja use to the tune of N200 Million, built fortresses for himself and became richer than the state. In a state like Imo, how else can a single man accumulate all these wealth if not through unhindered access to loot.

Will this situation remain? Imo stake holders, statesmen, religious leaders, elites, celebrities must gather to battle for the soul of these LGAs in Imo. National Assembly members from Imo must raise a voice against this unprecedented plunder. We are calling on Abdullahi Maje and the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) to look into the Imo state issue and call for fresh elections. Asking for elections for these councils will not be requesting for much.

ERIGWARA: THE HIGHPOINT OF MBAISE SOLIDARITY

The concept "Erigwara" is an Mbaise dialectical coinage. The term has it's etymological root in the verb 'to eat'. In Mbaise vocabulary, the lexicon, Erigwara will denote the attitude of visiting neighbouring communities during the Christmas festive period to eat what was literarily eaten in your home. With the passage of time, the conceptual meaning evolved to capture both 'the first or initial ceremonial visit' and its 'revisiting event'. So today in the contemporary Mbaise employment and usage, Erigwara will mean every ceremonial visit during the Yuletide according to market days.

ERIGWARA is strictly an Mbaise expression of solidarity during the Yuletide. Just like the Jewish Passover, Erigwara is meant to deepen the people's affection for themselves; appreciate God for His faithfulness all through the 12 running months by showing love to people. It is a time when communities in respect to their last market days of the year show love and charity to their visitors. Just like the Jewish Passover when neighbouring villages converge in Jerusalem for the feast of weeks, during the ERIGWARA event, the invitation to take part in the feast is unofficial. Villages within and outside the neighbourhood will always work out the erigwara dates from the market calenders. This is the highest form of solidarity in Mbaise land. As a people famously known for the adage "ÒNWURU ÒBIA GBAA NKWA", the Mbaise people will always prepare to receive, feast and thrill their guests to lavish meals. For some families that are bouyant enough, Erigwara is more or less transformed to a banquet where every guest is feted like a prince. It is almost held in disappointment over expected visitors that never turned up, and the accompanying question will be "Ibiara anyi ERIGWARA? For instance, in Mbutu ancient kingdom, a seemingly oil rich settlement in the Southern pole of Mbaise, ERIGWARA is famously taken to it's digital level. This community with over six market squares, designed to celebrate their ERIGWARA four times during the Yuletide. How is this done? Each village in the community cerebrates according to their ancient markets.

As the euphoria is in Mbutu so it is in other parts of Mbaise. For instance on December 25, 2020 all villages that habour Eke nta markets will roll out their red carpet. The logjam at Eke Ahiara junction will worth it as numerous commuters from within and across Mbaise will throng the famous community to feast. At strategic bypass, Mbaise born musicians will be on stage to entertain our visitors. This will include Òku Nwamama, Nkwo Nnabuchi, Olololo and all PMAN members. A similar scenario is played out on Afogbe, Aforu, Nkwogwu, Eke Nguru and Orieukwu. The holdups are quite appreciated. Just as this writer is still sourcing for resources to host teeming guests on December 25, financial aid and material offers are often expected from well wishers and lovers.

As we undergo this ceremonial event, may God bless our community and give us the resources to appreciate one another. Amen.

OSHIOMHOLE LEADS EDO APC
TO DEFEAT AS HE DID IN IMO

Ambition and pride are two deadly vices. These were what robbed the great Lucifer of all his wonderful positions before the angels of God. In fact, Lucifer was the bearer of light in heaven, a position akin to the national chairman of a ruling party. At a point above, the great lucifer was demanding equality with God, a thing not even to be grasped. This led to a battle where the lower angels (electorates) revolted and waged a frontal war against Lucifer, their chairman, inflicting him much wound. He immediately lost hold of his constituency and became an opposition. As it is, two major parties cannot run a parallel government at a time. When the heavens could no longer contain Lucifer under his Master, he led the route to the earth, the abode of the sinful. If not for anything, Lucifer is known for failure as a result of his ugly ambition and pride, the defined enemies of the self.

From the look of things. It appears Lucifer alighted in Nigeria upon arrival on earth, and emptied much of his attributes in Nigerian politicians, who have enrobbed themselves with ambition. Comrade Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state exemplifies this aweful ambitious attribute. As the National Chairman of APC, he mixed up his ambition at much dose with the demands of his position. He had through his brash approach to party administration, brought himself into conflict and collision with almost every person that matters in the party. In the process, he did not just bring the party to dishonor and disrepute, but the fortunes of the party continued to suffer serious decline under his leadership. As at the time Oshiomhole took over the party`s leadership from Chief Oyegun his kinsman, the APC was in control of 24 states, PDP 11, and APGA one. But under the infamous watch of Oshiomhole, the APC lost Sokoto, Bauchi, Benue, Adamawa, Zamfara and Oyo to the opposition. Under his watch too, APC failed to field candidates in Rivers State in the last elections. And through administrative blunder by the party under his watch, the APC lost Bayelsa State to the opposition PDP through the court

WELCOME TO IMO. At the wake of the 2019 elections in the state, Adams plunged his party into disintegration with his struggle against Rochas Okorocha. He did not spare a thought for the party as he created a parallel leadership structure irrespective of court injunctions and in isolation of the National Executive Council, NEC. This situation is still plaguing the state with its dual party identity. As a result, APC went to the polls battered and consequently lost the gambit to the glory of PDP. As if that is not enough, he allegedly aided the plunging of the entire state into maladministration as he skillfuly managed to retrieve Imo through a controversial Supreme Court judgment that brought in Senator Hope Uzodimma.

Oshiomhole's ambition in Edo politics led him to personal disagreement with governor Godwin Obaseki. He pushed the governor away from APC who now aligned with the PDP to give Adams a good fight. Edo people knew what they wanted and went for it. The situation has now robbed Oshiomhole of everything and dimistified him too in National politics. It is expected that as usual, the hand of Esau will crawl at night in Edo, but this time God will place his angels on guard.

One of the dangers of ambition is that when it crashes in target, it does not leave the victim with hope. In Edo, after the much noise and skelewu dance, Oshiomhole could not win his ward, his LGA or even his state. Because of his promise of delivery as a godfather, Pastor Iza-Iyamu has now become the only man who has lost election on the platform of PDP and APC respectively within 4 years. On a positive note, Obaseki is now the 3rd man to have won election with APC and PDP in the space of 4years. Iyamu whom Oshiomhole described as a thief with proofs and a no fit for public service was now to come back as a saint and most qualified after four years. What do politicians take the people for? Iyamu as a man of God he alleges may be a good man, but he soaked himself in the murky and putrid miasmic mud of Adams' politics that his association with Oshiomhole has attracted much ignominy to him. If there is anyone that has continuously led Iyamu to failure, it is Adams Oshiomhole. Adams vilified him while in PDP and demonized him when foisted on APC. The lesson is lucid: Pride kills, undue ambition destroys. Personality pays more than antics. Do not hope in man but in God. God is still aware of Nigerian politics. No one plays God no matter your oratory and demagoguery.

LADY DIES OF ULCER 2 MONTHS AFTER COMPLAINING OF HUNGER

A 22 year old lady from Abia state known on facebook as George Sandra has died of ulcer. The pretty damsel had taken to her page on April 4, 2020 where she cried out over hardship and financial crisis occasioned by COVID-19. Her post reads; “If I die in this lockdown, no need for autopsy. Na yam and red oil and Garri with salt will kill me”.

On June 12, 2020, Sandra died over an illness suspected to be ulcer complications. She will be laid to rest on Friday July 3, 2020. May she take part in God's heavenly banquet, Amen.

Most times, death gives us the luxury of chosing the particular place where it can come and meet us. Some places like the Hospital and personal Homes are more Honorable than other places that may expose us even after death. This is the situation almost playing out since yesterday.

At about 9am, Sunday of June14, 2020 Report was Recieved by the police station and operative of the Divisional police headquarters at Nekede/Ihiagwa of the unwholesome development at Room 19 of Vic-Mic Lodge, where two love birds took love affair a notch higher.

Cynthia Obieshi had come to visit her friend, Samuel Osuji on Saturday June 13 before they met their death the next morning. While the body of Samuel Osuji was allegedly found in the Kitchen, Cynthia's co**se was found in the bedroom. In developed societies, the cause of such deaths must be determined through post-mortem examination for the safety of the living.The duo died of a cause that has not been ascertained, however suspicion is high that they may have taken unhealthy drugs.

MORAL LESSON: We should always be mindful of the kind of relationship we keep.

I had visited alot of media platforms and chart groups where men of God are made subjects of attack. Some Christians have taken it upon themselves to run down and vilify ordained men of God, either for reasons of jealousy, hatred or over familiarity.

For the records, the best of us is taken from among men. God chose them in their weakness, they were not chosen because they are strong and wise.These people are humans; they take part in human fault; they eat human food and what appeals to all of us appeal to them. In fact they have entitlements also to the good things of life. However, the charge for some of them to be celibate and take up a monastic and fuga mundi lifestyle is a disciplinary measure which aims at achieving chastity and purity, the virtues which even all Christians are called to imbibe. Seeing them with the prism of perfection is a sin which only God will acquit from the culprit. They are on the same struggle to defeat evil on their side and help us achieve eternal blessedness. As Christians we also have the challenge of conquering sin, one of which is calumny.

Let us avoid private or public discussions, induced or imposed with the aim of running down on the personalities of real ordained men of God. Do not abuse your familiarity with them and with their work. Do not do that to show arrogance, education and erudition. Even if you are the first and direct witness of their evil deeds, that does not give you the monopoly of attack. Those ordained men of God literary chose to be foolish and stupid for the sake of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Criticising them unconstructively will never make your sweat sweet. If you are guilty of this, touch your heart today and say 'Lord Have Mercy on me

HERBALIST KILLS PASTOR WHO CAME TO HIM FOR RITUALS

A 48-year-old herbalist, Isiaka Ogunkoya has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for the murder of a self-acclaimed man of God, Pastor Kalejaiye Ezekiel.

The herbalists confessed killing the pastor because he was in urgent need of a human being for rituals when the pastor came to him seeking powers to make his church grow and for his members to multiply. The herbalists who confessed that he is reputed for performing rituals for many pastors in the country, said he used pastor Isiaka for the preparation of a concoction for one of his clients in Isoyin district. When queried on how he used the pastor for his concortions, he said he put him to sleep, cut off the viral parts he needed and prepared the rituals for his client who had paid him a lot of money before hand.

The police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the native doctor would be seriously profiled and interrogated to know how many people he might have killed in the same manner and the identities of his pastor clients. However, Nigerians have reacted to the the herbalist's confession, and have wondered what most pastors are really gaining in visiting herbalists for powers.

MAURICE IWU AND THE COVID-19 VACCINE

When in 1985, a 13 year old non Nigerian female s*x hawker introduced HIV/AIDS in Lagos Nigeria, the news sent panic, doubt and disbelief to the whole nation as AIDS was perceived as the disease of American homos*xuals. The confusion infected Nigerians so well that we didnt distinguish the HIV virus from the AIDS disease. The complacency and mystery associated with AIDS made people especially easterners to describe it as "Obiri n'aja Ocha", indicating lack of cure for the deadly disease which has claimed over 34 million lives before the advent of antiretrovirals. To indicate further its lack of cure, proactive measures were then centred on 'Prevention is better than Cure'. At that point, it became obvious all hope were lost.

Fast forward to 2019.
Corona virus has come with its confusion. China took off with the virus until it was introduced in Nigeria with the help of a 30 year old lady on March 13, 2020. Just like HIV/AIDS, it is not clear if Corona is the virus while COVID-19 is the disease. We already understand that the description COVID-19 is associated with the December 2019 entry of the virus, and the WHO has moved the virus classification from epidemic to pandemic because of its spread. There is dire need to distinguishes the virus from its disease so we don't entertain much casualties as we had in HIV/AIDS before the arrival of its antiretroviral.

For now, apart from quarantining the suspects the only antidote we have now is precaution. Someone coughed in a taxi in Abuja yesterday, every person alighted from the bus immediately, is that the precaution? Just few days ago, 43 year old Jannifer Haller, has become the first person in history to test the potential COVID-19 vaccine in clinical trial. We pray the vaccine worths it.

Before Haller's trial, our own brother, home grown (UNN) Professor Maurice Iwu had presented a plant-based patented treatment for COVID-19 to the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu. This writer had personally interacted with Mr Iwu on the said case and he explained that it was important to note that COVID-19 belongs to a class of viruses that are very common, some more serious than others, the class includes the flu virus, SARS, and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS). He explained that they are Ribo Nucleic Acid (RNA) viruses, which allow them to mutate easily and spread between species. Iwu insisted that SARS and MERS Coronaviruses are more lethal than COVID-19. After the discourse, it became clear to me that Nigeria is close to COVID-19 cure.

So while the Ministry of Health, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and healthcare professionals are actively engaged in providing treatment and support for the management of the Coronavirus infection, it is important to indicate that the Nigerian scientific community are making contributions towards finding a sustainable treatment for the prevention and/or treatment of COVID-19 as part of drug discovery programme for neglected tropical diseases, emergent infections and orphan diseases. This may be Nigeria's scientific breakthrough and curative offer to the embattled and 'diseased' continents.

RAGING SUSPICION ABOUT 5G NETWORK

There is an ongoing debate in many quarters across the globe with regard to the deployment of 5G network for telecommunications. The central debate rests on the fact that there is huge suspicion that the 5G is harmful to the human person with its radiative effects. It has been a raging mantra even in Nigeria where conspiracy theorists have associated the network to the spread of the COVID-19. Persons like former Senator Dino Melayi have taken the campaign to another level. His video clips have adorned the social network where he is expressing fears of the outcome of the 5G.

5G is the next generation of mobile broadband that will eventually replace, or at least augment our 4G LTE latest connection. 5G is a wireless communications technology supporting cellular data networks. The 5G is engineered to greatly increase the speed and responsiveness of wireless networks and enable a sharp increase in the amount of data transmitted over wireless systems due to more available bandwidth and advanced antenna technology. Its frequency spectrum is divided into millimeter waves, mid-band and low-band.

As of April 2019, the Global Mobile Suppliers Association had identified 224 operators in 88 countries that have demonstrated, are testing or trialling, or have been licensed to conduct field trials of 5G technologies. The first country to adopt 5G on a large scale was South Korea in April 2019. However, Swedish telecoms giant Ericsson predicted that 5G internet will cover up to 65% of the world's population by the end of 2025. As we write, 9 companies sell 5G radio hardware and 5G systems for carriers: Altiostar, Cisco Systems, Datang Telecom/Fiberhome, Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia, Qualcomm, Samsung, and ZTE

Some 5G pundits contend that the new network generates radiofrequency radiation that can damage DNA and lead to cancer; cause oxidative damage that can cause premature aging; disrupt cell metabolism; and potentially lead to other diseases through the generation of stress proteins. This is to say that the 5G apparatus has a chemical reaction and biological interaction with human cells that can endanger health. It is even alleged that the 5G is harmful to even birds flying on the air.

NIGERIA

Already, Nigeria is the first country in West Africa that has carried out 5G trials. As at November 2019, MTN Nigeria demoed 5G network. This was done in Abuja, Calabar, and Lagos respectively, with the hope of a nationwide commercial launch anytime soon. At Maitama Abuja, MTN Nigeria demonstrated a live demo of 5G network in line with the telecom’s decision to roll out 5G in other major cities in Nigeria before end of 2020. This is coming immediately after the telecom network successfully ran a trial of the 5G in its domiciled South Africa, achieving 20 Gigabyte per second (Gbps) with less than five minutes latency. Whether these telecoms companies take permission to launch their networks is what I do not know.

Most network users in Nigeria like myself have only been used to the 3G network before Artel popularised their 4G SIM card. I was opportune to get mine few months ago as it doles out much call and data bonus and runs faster. Nigerians are end users of smart phones and we use them even without checking their negative effects. If this 5G will be harmful to us then it should not be deployed. Even if 5G will help us in downloading the Atlantic Ocean, the effects on the human person must be checked.

The Federal Government through the Ministry of Science and Technology ought to queue into this debate. Telecom operators and technological experts must be involved too. At their instance, the 5G network can be demobilize within the parameter space of the Federal republic, where whatever that has been buried in form of earth cables or erected mask have to be brought down. There are alleged pictorial evidences in Birmingham city where a mask emitting 5G network was set ablaze on the grounds that it is linked to the Corona Virus. Majority Nigerians have no access to good food and immune suppliments, so anything that will serve as threat to our poor immunity should be checked and confronted.
