When selecting a venue, start with your guest list in mind, the guest list is the number of persons of persons you are expecting in your wedding.
This will help you determine the size you need. A venue thatโs too small will make your guests uncomfortable, while one thatโs too large can feel empty and lack intimacy.
After deciding on the number of guests, let's get into other things to consider

1. ๐ผ๐๐๐๐จ๐จ๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ฉ๐ฎ: Is the venue easy to locate? Will your guests need to travel far? If many of your guests are coming from out of town, choose a location close to accommodations or central landmarks.
2. ๐พ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ฉ๐ฎ: Ask the venue what their maximum guest capacity is. Remember to consider spacing for chairs, tables, a stage for the couple, dancing, and catering setups.
3. ๐๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ฉ๐๐๐จ: In Nigeria, having a backup power supply is crucial. Ask if the venue has generators or if you need to provide one. Ensure there are sufficient parking spaces and restrooms for your guests. Ask about ventilation or air conditioning, especially for hot days. If the hall tells you they have line 33 light and they never seize their light, don't agree, insist on alternate power source/
4. ๐พ๐ช๐ก๐ฉ๐ช๐ง๐๐ก ๐พ๐ค๐ฃ๐จ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐จ: Some venues may have restrictions on the types of ceremonies or decorations allowed (e.g., religious or traditional customs). Ensure the venue aligns with your cultural or religious practices, or they don't care at all. 5. ๐๐ง๐๐๐: I put this the last because the best is always reserved for the last, and most times, this is when you find out the price of the hall - AT THE LAST. By then, you have been gushing over the hall for 2 hours and then something will just nudge you to ask for price.... lol. Just ensure the cost for the hall is within your budget and also find out if there are hidden charges like corkage etc.
