Cake of the Week: Black Forest Cake

Yesterday, I delivered another Chocolate Tasty Cake to an overtly satisfied client. She said something absolutely funny. She asked if it was my Mum or Grandma that that discovered the recipe 😊

This actually prompted me to share with us all the History of this wonderful cake known as Black Forest Cake.

Oyah!!! Gather 'round, cake lovers, for a original tale from the sweet realms of baking history!

Are you ready???

Picture this: it's the early 20th century, in the military land of Germany's Black Forest…, and the locals are feeling a little unusual.

A brilliant baker, armed with dreams of chocolatey glory, decided to weave a cake as enchanting as the dark and mysterious Black Forest itself!

And voilà, before you can say Niger Delta, the Black Forest Cake, was born!

Now, here's the icing on the cake, or should I say the cherry on top?

Legend has it that the chocolate look of this cake reflects the region's traditional costume!
