You are an upcoming artists and you are saying "God for bid for me to buy a ticket or to pay money just to watch somebody perform"?
Have you forgotten that you will also need people to buy tickets to watch you perform? Because that is also one of the business part of Music?
What if somebody should make such statement when you organize a show? Will you still be in the music industry?
Try as much as possible to buy tickets to attend a show. Don't just attend a show because you are performing alone, pay to attend a show to encourage the craft of that person. Like me, there are some shows that even if I am not among the DJs, I can enter attend the show for free but sometimes, I buy Tickets just to encourage the organizers and to cover up their lost because I know how much they must have put in to organize such show and ticket sales is one of the major ways inwhich they can recover the amount of money they've invested in it.

As long as you are an entertainer, be it a comedian, an artists, a dancer, a D.J, a spoken artists etc, learn to buy tickets and attend shows, don't just wait that till you are part of the performers or you have a free slot before you attend a show. Even if it is your friend, try and be buying ticket sometimes. Even if you will enter for free, try and buy ticket for somebody. The fact that you have a free slot does not mean the person you are coming with has a free slot too. If you have a free slot, anybody you come with, buy a ticket for that person even if it is your girlfriend. Not like because they won't allow you to enter with her but, because you want to support the brand.
