RED VELVET CAKE
Ingredients:
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (235ml) butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup (120g) buttermilk
* PREPARATION
1. In a medium sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
2. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer or a turning pin to beat the butter until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
3. Beat in red food coloring and vanilla extract.
4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk. Beat just until combined.
5. Put battered mixture is a clean fine greased pans.
7. Bake for 30-35 minutes in a preheat oven 350°F (175°C) or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
8. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
