Artist (musicians) suffer The most in this entertainment industry And instead of Dem to work together na Dem dey divided And full of pride pass,i know alot of you Will not understand this But if you read carefully till the end i will share some points with you and explain why I said this.
As a DJ, MC, comedian, photographer etc, you don't need a record label to survive infact you might not even need to be very active on social media to cash out, even if you don't attend shows you can still get weddings, birthdays And other events to work and get paid And that small small money you get from those places can help you when you want to promote your brand or crafts on other platforms or social media,And If you check well you realize that most of these people either do other business or have handwork dat support Dem.
But you see musicians ba,they pay for recording songs,pay for promotion,pay for photo sessions,pay for graphic design And sometimes don't even get slots for shows even when dey do they hardly get payed because if your Craft is kinda limited to the showbiz you have to get to a certain level before you start cashing out on performance, And the worst thing is that most of Dem don't like having side hustle,dey always want to dress well look good,get The finest girls And be forming Hot guys and wasting their time, some of Dem get carried away by The social media attention and end up singing good music for over 15years and have nothing to show for it.
Don't get me wrong, packaging and looking good is very important as an entertainer but do it according to your budget And remain small money to promote your Craft especially if you find your self in the north where you hardly find a family member or anyone supporting entertainment.
