One thing I've been able to achieve as a Chief Usher is knowing how many ushers are needed to attend to a particular number of guests in an event without even getting to the venue.
Personally, I've ushered singlehandedly in various events and meetings. Not that I wanted to show off but because I found out I was the only one available and most times, there was no provision for ushers. (Probably the organizers thought 'people around' would handle it.)
In the course of ushering alone, I'd visualize how many ushers would have made the work easier, standing at different points, if they'd been available or if provision had been made..
I remember a meeting where the were understaffed and we had to use seats to block part of the entrance. Trust Nigerians to move the seats and do their thing, ignoring the people standing๐
It was an experience.
I remember another meeting where we didn't have plans for extra people and our crowd control was poor. Reviewing this particular meeting with one of my mentors made me realize this.
The point being made is that a professional would know the number of staff that can handle a certain number of people so as not to overburden the ushers working.
This applies to other areas. Ask to know specific details of places and things where necessary.
Things like these and more will be taught during 3.0, RISE OF THE PROFESSIONAL.
