Since the launch of THEO-TETON Consults, we have been hosting impactful, timely, and relevant projects that can bridge the gap in learning, skill-building, and empowerment for the visually impaired community.
The Inaugural Intensive Workshop on Braille Machine Repairs and Maintenance held from 26th – 29th August 2024 tackled the challenge for those who rely on Braille for communication, education, and independence. Braille is more than just a tool for reading and writing; it is a gateway to knowledge, freedom, and self-expression. The effectiveness of Braille depends on its proper maintenance, hence the crucial need for this workshop.
At Theo - Teton Consults we are here to ensure that the tactile systems that so many depend on, remain reliable, accurate, and accessible. This is a mandate we have pursued vigorously and remain committed to pursuing.
During the three-day Intensive workshop, expert trainers took participants through hands-on sessions diving into the practical aspects of Braille maintenance, including caring for Braille machines, repairing Braille Slates and Stylus, and preserving Braille books. All participants were left equipped with the skills to maintain and sustain the tools that make Braille accessible.
Many thanks to all those who made the workshop possible—the organizers, sponsors, trainers, and participants.
