🎶 jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way! 🎶 We are slowly getting into the Christmas spirit. Have you bought gifts for your friends and loved ones or are you waiting for last minute rush?
Anyway, if you haven’t, we thought to give you some ideas on what to get for friends, family and loved ones this season.

Hampers: You can never go wrong with a Christmas hamper. They are the go to choice when you are at loss on what to buy for someone especially a family-oriented person. But be sure, the contents are reasonable.

Kitchen sets: We don’t do regular around here. Go creative this season and buy something really creative but thoughtful.

Perfumes: You need us to State the obvious? Invest in nice authentic scents. People love to look and smell nice. And you will be the first to cross their minds whenever they wear that scent.

Knitted apparels: Scarves, caps, shawls, sweaters etc. With the harmattan in full swing soon, there is nothing better than keeping your loved ones warm this season.

Jewelries: Where all my ladies at? Women will never have enough jewelry and adding to their collections is another way to get into their good graces. And hey? The guys are not left out too. Some guys love jewelries too – wrist watches, bracelets, neck chains- take your pick.

Kids toys: Whether for your own kids, nieces/nephews or a friend’s kids, toys are always a hit with the children. Just make sure the chosen toy is for the right age. You can ask the store attendants for advise.

Books: Books as gift will never go out of fashion (at least to me 😤). It can be an addition to other gifts or it can be a lone gift, but choose your book carefully. Know what your recipient likes.

P.S (Please don’t buy books for a non book lover, you don’t want it sitting on the shelf without appreciation).

Amazon gift cards: I don’t mind this myself. Gift cards come in handy when you don’t know what a person likes, it gives them the chance to choose for themselves.

Card & board games: Scrabble, ludo, chess, puzzles etc anything a family can enjoy together. Trust me, they will always have you in mind whenever they bring out the game to play.

Money: Yes, money is important. The economy has put many under financial strain, if you can afford gift someone a cash gift or offer to take care of a certain expenses or bill. They will appreciate you for a very long time.
The list is not exhaustive and you can always add yours. The goal is to spread good cheer this season.

Final note: depending on how much you are willing to splurge, be intentional with your choice of gift. Get something thoughtful you know will mean something to the recipient. If it helps, ask yourself whether you will appreciate the gift if someone else gifts you same.

Learn to breathe at intervals, in the end you will find that some things are not worth stressing over. Things always have a way of falling into place at the right time.

Spent the weekend with an old friend and her two young children aged 5 and 3. Aside the struggles of keeping them quiet and in one place for a few minutes, it was totally an enjoyable experience.

Some things stood out for me though - the adventurous spirit, the childish abandon, playfulness and natural curiosity. There is also the honesty in their opinion and questions.

It got me thinking about how society have programmed us to act a certain way in order to conform. And in so doing, most, if not all of us adults, lose our most authentic self.

I hope as we navigate through the bustle of adulthood, we retain some of our natural childish positive energy. I hope we don't lose ourselves, and most importantly may we always find ways to be free.
