In 1937, the first conference of all Obas of Yorubaland held at Oyo, The Ooni of Ife presided. In 1938, the second conference was held at Ife, the Ooni of Ife presided. In 1939, the conference was held in Ibadan, the Ooni of Ife presided.

In 1940, the conference of Yoruba Obas was held at Abeokuta, the Ooni of Ife presided. In 1941, the conference was held at Ijebu-Ode the Ooni of Ife presided.

On the 29th of Oct 2022 history will be made as His Royal Majesty Oba Lamidi Folorunsho Ayeni,The Elejuku of Ejuku land will be Crowned by Ooni Oba of Ile-Ife and he will join the league of Yoruba Obas that is entitled to wear a Crown.

The Grand Coronation Ceremony will hold in Ejuku Community in Yagba East LGA of Kogi state and will attract dignitaries from all walks of life including His Excellency,Alhaji Yahaya Bello ,the Governor of Kogi state,Ooni of Ife and other Traditional Rulers,Captains of industries,Diplomats and Politicians. It promises to be a memorable event.

ELEJUKU CORONATION AND THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE ROYAL SCEPTRE

Ahead of the Coronation Ceremonies of the Elejuku of Ejuku, HRM Oba Lamidi Folorunsho Ayeni coming up on Saturday 29th of Oct 2022 Holden in Ejuku land in Yagba East LGA of Kogi state and the Consecration of his Royal Sceptre by His Royal Majesty Oba Adeyeye ,Ogunwusi,Ojaja the first,the Ooni of Ife,the need to shed more light on the significance of the Royal Sceptre and why the Ooni of Ife is vested with the spiritual powers to Consecrate it.

What is a Royal Sceptre?

A sceptre is a staff or wand held in the hand by a ruling monarch as an item of royal or imperial insignia.

Figuratively, it means royal or imperial authority or sovereignty to rule over subjects or a territory.

Why Ooni of Ife to Consecrate the Royal Sceptre?

So many may be wondering about why the the Ooni of Ife is central to this very Coronation Ceremonies and the reason is not far fetch as it has been part and parcel of Yoruba Culture from the Ancient times.

Simply put,Ooni of Ife is the custodian of the spiritual authority to coronate Kings and consecrate their Royal Sceptre in alignment with the Kingship Evolution of Yoruba Traditional System of Administration. Open this link to read more:

HRM FOLORUNSHO LAMIDI AYENI TO JOIN THE LEAGUE OF YORUBA FIRST CLASS KINGS AS EJUKU COMMUNITY SET TO HOST DIGNITARIES FOR HIS CORONATION EVENT:

Ooni Oba of Ile-Ife TO CONSECRATE ROYAL SCEPTER.

The Ejuku Community Development Society has announced its plans to host dignitaries from all walks of life and well wishers at the Coronation Ceremonies of the newly appointed Oba of Ejuku,HRM Lamidi Folorunsho Ayeni. The Elejuku of Ejuku land in Yagba East LGA of Kogi State on Saturday 29th of Oct 2022.

The event which the Organising Committee Chairman,Engr Leke Peters promises to be unique and symbolic will attract the presence of creme de la crème personalities in Royalty and Governance sector.

A statement released by the Coronation Committee through the Media and Publicity Sub Committee and made available to the Press ahead of the event reads:

"We are glad to inform the world that the stage is set for the Coronation Ceremonies of our King Oba Lamidi Folorunsho Ayeni The Elejuku of Ejuku on the 29th of Oct 2022.

The event which will have great personalities in attendance will host His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello as the Special Guest of Honor and Ooni of Ife HRM Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja the 1, Head of the Spiritual Troupes and coronation activities in Oodua Land"

The statement further reads:" this particular event is symbolic because it is a three fold celebration of appointment of the king,elevation of the Elejuku stool from Second Class to First Class stool and the Consecration of the Kabiyesi's Royal Sceptre by the Ooni himself and the to induction of the Elejuku stool into the league of Yoruba Royalty Traditional Institution.

The event promises to be one of its kind and is hoped to attract dignitaries from all walks of life,the Kogi state Governor and his delegation,Traditional Rulers from different Communities,business associates of the celebrant,diplomats,traditional institutions,friends and well wishers and Ejuku sons and daughters from far and near.

We shall also use the event to appreciate the commitment and contribution of some deserving members of the community,friends and well wishers whose actions have lifted the community in one way or the other with presentation of Awards of Excellence and Honorary Chieftaincy titles and as well,launch a 500million Naira Development Appeal Fund.
